@@gautam_anup no, just keep practiciing. Take your guitar to get a setup just to make sure it's not the guitar if you are really worried. That will be cheaper than buying a new guitar. F chord is considered hard for almost everyone. Took me months to feel like I was decent at it and it still was sloppy at times. Just keep working at it every day and it will come.

I've had a Journey carbon fiber guitar for about three years now and have taken it to about six different countries. I roll up my clothes and pack them inside the body of the guitar ((just be careful with the pickup wires) and all around it, and have never had to check a bag. It's the best travel guitar ever.

I’ve had the carbon fiber version for a couple of years. I love it. A couple of things I’ve noticed: make sure the nut is lined up before you attach the neck, and check the action (I had to do a lot of sanding on the saddle to get the action lower.) Thanks for all you do, Justin!

Hey Justin! Went through something similar a couple years ago. I don't know that these guitars were even available then. Finding an instrument that sounds like an instrument instead of a cracker jacks toy was difficult. It came down to a parlor guitar, which does fit into an overhead compartment. After going back and forth between the PRS Parlor model and the Taylor Mini-e Koa, I chose the Taylor. Since then, I've traveled extensively with it with no issues at all but the best part is, that instrument sits on a stand in my home and gets played daily. So I find it much more than a convenience decision, it is a truly capable instrument that stands up to a variety of demands. Just some food for thought for anyone in the market for something like these. It also has an on-board tuner and Fishman pickup and comes with a very strong case made specifically by Taylor for this guitar. And, not for nothing, it is truly a beautiful thing to look at!

Thanks for the comparison, but was surprised you limited the presentation to tone. While most important, the ergonomics of each guitar differ. I have the carbon one and haven't held a wood version, but the comfort of the carbon body is remarkable, especially for a smaller statured player.

I just enjoy your reviews because you clearly think utility first so anything you want to review I'll watch and enjoy. Though, I would personally love for you to review the McPherson Sable carbon Fiber guitar. They are expensive but if they will send you one I bet it will sell a lot because it sounds like wood but with none of the headaches. I was blown away by the sound when I heard one. I am a sucker for Martins because I love the traditional look, but for anyone not obsessed with that a nice carbon fiber guitar would check a lot of boxes. Just not having to worry about the neck changing with the weather is enough to make me think about it. The other major sticking point is you have to be willing to pay for the benefits because they are so expensive you'd have to talk yourself out of just buying an iconic brand/design to purchase something even more expensive.

Just like another comment, I use mine as hand luggage and put my clothes inside the guitar body. I was using a small rucksack , but the case IS the rucksack! Tone-wise, I think the carbon-fibre model sounds pretty good. In fact better than a small bodied wood guitar, which always sound a little boxy to my my ears. With a proper scale length, it plays well. One thing, I think the body might be glass-fibre with the neck being carbon? Perhaps someone here knows...

I went with the Carbon fibre and very happy. However I do agree that its quieter than a wood equivalent however I fixed this by using a tonewood amp on it. Now it’s very versatile as well as louder with the rich sound.

Please review gear with beginners and both quality/affordability in mind - like most bang for the buck sort of thing that saves money but is still nice enough to grow into using! For instance, an iRig to plug my guitar into my phone, but without the iRig price - the best possible quality and features for a sizable savings. Like that sort of stuff! Maybe there’s a brand from another country that does he same thing or a fraction of the price. I’d love to suggest checking out the Roadie 3. The founders/inventors are super awesome and created a cool, useful tool with multiple functions that is great for beginners and advanced players alike. I’d also like to suggest the JamStack 2 (available soon) vs. Spark modeling amp. Likely to save beginners a lot of money on buying tons of pedals, but would love to know which you’d prefer to recommend to beginners (once JS2 comes out and you can test it). Or another thing altogether: teaching beginners how to take care of our instruments, as well as which tools and cleaners to buy without wasting money on stuff we won’t need, are crappy quality, and/or aren’t likely to use.

By the way, is this Journey a full or travel sized carbon fiber? Check out KLOS. The full size (which also has a removable neck and can easily travel in an airplane cabin), as well as their travel sized version, are both much richer and louder sounding, compared to the Journey you just showed. The sound hole placement likely has a lot to do with the quieter tones, among other factors, versus the wood body you tried. You should probably get another few carbon fiber models to compare from different brands side by side. Trying it against a wood guitar (even if it’s the same brand) isn’t likely a fair test to show what carbon fiber is truly capable of sounding like.

If u still cant get the hang defo try on electric, when back in stock in getting Yamaha Pacific 112j with katana boss amp, they would be my recommendation. Bottom line is don't give up

Thanks Justin, that's a neat guitar option and I'm glad you brought it to our attention. But I'd shy away from doing "reviews" and "opening box" videos in the future. The YT is absolutely packed with such videos, and 99% of it is a repetitious (folks reading the literature out loud-and trying to be "nice" about the stuff someone sent them) and useless information. I vote no on "more reviews". This world is saturated with them, and they are mostly just redundant noise. Also I think it could detract from your stellar reputaion as an instructor.

I see what you're doing there 😂! You're playing Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" chord progressions, whilst trying to "trick" the algorithm. Bad news. The algorithm is human. There are literal trolls from record companies listening to famous youtube channels, such as yours, and monetizing off of you, on a customized basis, by singling you out, and filing copyright claims, on a per submittal basis. The guitars you featured look (and sound) super cool, but the manufacturers need to make the headstocks bigger, but especially if the guitars can fold in half. Major nod to your mention of Maton Guitars (Tommy Emmanuel) and Froggy Bottoms (HQ Underground). Thank you👍

Great review BUT it's FIBRE not Fiber. We're English and spell correctly, not American 😊 Re reviews, PICKS eg - Thickness, (acoustic/strumming/lead) material, shape, thumb picks, smooth or rough surface for grip etc etc. Also clip-on tuners, and remember you can tune a guitar but you can't tuna fish.
