I have never even thought about adding trim on furniture, what a great idea! I recently had the idea to add trim to my lamps so these projects will be fun. OMG…not a drop cloth definitely a pro. I am such a clutz , and along with my puppy always being such a help this just looks like a huge crime scene ready to happen lol. Liked the video and the dining hutch. Green not my color but this color was one I would consider. Very pretty.

That poor hutch was so filthy and now look at it...magnificient! The color is delightful and I'm so glad you left all the marks of life on it instead of making it pristine. The chair literally needed that trim, too like a breath of fresh air. An idea for the corner, maybe a unique table with a photo array? Loved the recipes at the end! 😊 Great video/tutorial as always! I would choose another chair, but in a floral print, bringing in your green and blue gray. Mixing patterns always seems glamorous to me.

I've been following you for a number of years now. I remember watching you refinish your furniture pieces right on the driveway at your old house in Arizona. Flip flops and a tank top! I am not an upholsterer BUT I am a hat maker and trim is one of my favorite things to do. I am always putting trim on something. I did not however know about the fabric hot glue which I will try for sure! 😊

Wow it turned out gorgeous. And the Blue Willow I have been collecting for years. Country Living had a spread in their Spring catalog feathering Blue Willow so thanks to them the prices have sky rocketed. Your hutch and the decor looks amazing ☺️💕

I just had my kitchen cupboards painted a few weeks ago . Just the inserts I wanted some wood showing on the cabinets . The color you chose is almost the same color as my cabinets . !! Plus I seen a new jeep in my church parking lot and it was the same shade as my cabinets and your hutch . ! I loved the look you got and love how you decorated inside your hutch ! Mine is so full with all my children’s and grandkids plates and special Items they got me through the years . I cannot remove them they will notice ! Lol love the style you have for decorating !

Fabulous. I would prefer that than something new. Looks stunning and unique.

Salmon Patties were my children’s favorite meal. It is inexpensive, easy, and to me delicious. I use old fashioned oats for my binder, instead of flour.

I love the hutch! Beautiful color.

Wide trims are crazy expensive! Sometimes you can find them online for a better price but 12-25 dollars a yard makes them quite a luxury!

The hutch turned out great! Love the 2 tone colors especially the green!❤️Game changer with hanging the plates on the back. I never would have thought of that!

My rural retirement home was purchased from a heavy smoker. The entire house smelled like the inside of an ashtray! Even the inside of the kitchen cabinets were orange from the smoke residue. To me the smell of nicotine is unmistakable. I had to scrub every surface 3 times before it was finally clean enough that I could prime & paint. I too enjoy re-imagining & bringing older things back to life.

I would put a tall tree or plant 27:35 in that right corner. A desk or piece of furniture would compete with that beautiful armoire imo. Greenery is always welcomed.

My mom made those salmon drops & she called them “salmon croquets.” My mom didn’t season them, either. We aren’t spicy people. 😁 Your videos are so unique. I love how you made the recipes that you found in the hutch AND tasted them. That’s such a spontaneous thing to do.

Better to hang the shell mirror a few inches higher above the hutch. Your shiny hair is beautiful, and a great cut.

Love the hutch.. salmon patties, canned salmon. An egg, little salt, 1 squirt of frenches mustard ( u won't taste it) ¼ grated onion, pinch of flour or cornmeal. Lightly mix . 1 sleeve of crushed saltiness. Make patties into size u like( i make like small hamburger) press each pattie into saltines, this will soak up any liquid. Fry on each side intil golden brown. Ive made these for years. People who wont touch salmon love them. People whove eaten them elsewhere say theyre the best. My husband loves to eat them at room temp.. i hv to agree after trying it. Seems ya dont taste the hot oil as much😋

All three items are awesome. Love the chair trim. Good for you for knowing your body and using the ppe needed.

I'd put some white wax on the details of the hutch...and in the corner, Walmart has a Drew Barrymore round chair that swivels...saw it on do it on a dime video today and I think it would be perfect in that corner rather than another piece of wood furniture...your home is coming together...good luck 😊

Loving the colors you are doing!! Vintage 1950’s green & blue combo!! So sorry for your allergies!! the trim I’ll have to try-didn’t even realize that there was fabric hot glue!! I Love small little details like trim, marbles in a bird bath, etc. Went to Panama City Beach ( before the Hurricane) & always have to get a small plant for the table with candles-collected bird feathers and placed into dirt of plant after washing-looked like little sails!! So Happy for You & Family!! Showing possibilities for a lot of make overs, inspiration, etc. My grandson Damari is 7 yrs old-not sure how old your oldest 3 are, but this summer I taught him how to play Othello, Mancala, Head Bandz, and Clue!! He knows checkers- next game is Chess. In the Fall & Spring have game night with my family. Damari has “tickets” to give to all guests for game night!! Usually do outside-and lite a fire!! Kids will remember forever!! Fall is for s’mores too!! My fav game still is Sorry!! ❤️💓❤️

Great score on the dishes! Wedgwood stopped making Blue Willow earthenware in the1960s when they acquired Johnson Brothers. My everyday dishes in the 1980s (& first half of the '90s) were Johnson Brothers Blue Willow, mixed with any other English-made Blue Willow I could find. Of course, nowadays Johnson Brothers Blue Willow is made in China, instead of England...sigh! Answering your question, I sometimes add trim to upholstered pieces, and, yes, hot glue is perfectly acceptable. Now that I've gotten older, I prefer to reupholster chairs than refinish case pieces, but seeing you scrub that nasty cabinet with a brush attached to a drill has inspired me to tackle a small chest. Maybe I'll get back into the swing of refinishing. Your makeover items look fantastic, and I'm loving how your room is turning out. Your videos are always educational and inspiring. I don't know how you do it all, but I look forward to every episode.

Try corn meal next time and less flour. The flour just helps it stick together better. I think they have more flavor using meal, salt and papper to taste. Yummy!

The hutch is awesome. I am not a trim person, but that did look nice. Instead of pillows, I would do a throw, something crocheted. Here's a tip, when you're frying, substitute a tablespoon or two of flour for cornstarch. It helps to make it crispy
