This week's video features the repair and restoration of a bedside table I found in a yard full of junk. It had been sitting outside for several years and was absolutely trashed.
The project required disassembly of the piece, gluing of split and cracked wood, mold treatment, and water stain treatment prior to finishing with a polyurethane finish.
Thanks to @Restomaniac for tips on how to straighten warped boards!!

@@uppitywoman3647 I do plan to keep it or give it to one of my kids but this might actually bring a few bucks since it is all mahogany. You are probably correct though, furniture never goes for much.

So, agreed that we all can’t be doing this….so, someone should make an app where you shop for furniture that has been saved and restored rather than buying new…there are these incredible craftsmen from all over, it would be nice to find pieces in one place.
You would never think it is the same piece...you have the magic touch when turning trash in to treasure ❤

Haha thanks!! I was really amazed at how nice the wood was once it dried out. This piece had been sitting outside for years when I found it and I left it in my shop for about three or four months to dry out before shooting this video. Helped with the smell too!

Thanks! I did not want to install the hard board either but didn't have much choice. I needed 1/8 inch board and it is all I could find except for small pieces of plywood at a hobby shop. The sheet I put in to cover it would have worked but it was just shy of 12 inches deep and I needed about 12 1/4 to get it to sit in the grooves. If you don't know it's there, it is almost impossible to tell that it is a veneer of sorts.
