When you use that long trap you need to pick it up from the square end. It’s designed to let everything slide down to the tied off circular end with out losing fish. Way easier to empty as well. Just untie that one knot and you are set.

Nice variety of fish. Don’t hurt the poor little possum. They are pretty harmless and do a lot of good. They eat tons of ticks so you might want to do a tick check after you’ve been where you find one.

The stick fish is actually a species of catfish called a twig catfish. They have sucker-like mouths and eat algae just like the plecos. Congrats on the catch

The stick looking fish is a farlowella catfish. They only get about 8in max so they are good for community tanks/ponds

I saw Kaden use a brand new 15 ft fish net the other day when using 2 of them

Coming fish experience, that catfish, could possibly one called a cuckoo catfish. These are super expensive, so it's a great find! My dad is a cichlid fanatic, he used to breed cichlids in the past, but now we have a tank full of them. We also have several cuckoo cats, but, for these species, it does have a minimum of three, since they are a kind of catfish that enjoy being together. Good luck on your ponds, and your next trappings/catches!

If that trap is the one I think it is, and all of the sections are connected, I believe you are supposed to pick up the square end, entry holes up, so all of the fish slide to the round end. Then you just open up the round end and dump all of the fish from there.

Great catches! The fire eel looks huge, maybe the biggest you have caught so far, idk. Love those ciclids! That skinny fish looks like a pencil fish, but aren't they salt water? I'm not sure, but it's a fish I'd have put into an indoor tank, cos it's so cool and different. Also the catfish was awesome! Such a very differently marked one then I've seen you, or anyone, catch before. Anyway thanks for another awesome video! And..Fish trap the pit!

Alien near 12:00 is a Farlowella cat. The killi is native. Caught a bunch in Oviedo with Flags and Mollies (45 years ago). Orange crayfish are from Mexico. After the fire eel, that is a Pictus cat. Almost always available in pets stores. Fire eels that are smaller than yours retail for over $100. With parasite treatments, you might be able to supplement your income... The blue mbunas are Kenyi Cichlid (Pseudotropheus lombardoi). Pretty common at big box pet stores in the mixed African tanks. Cool because the reverse colors compared to the rest of the mbuna family where the male is yellow and female / juvies are blue.

I think you’re pulling the trap up the wrong way. You should be pulling it up by the square side so all the fish fall into the side you untie. It should be much easier to access the fish from the other side once you untie it.
