Cats go through the fences usually. The last cat I released went right through the woven wire fence right south of us with the quickness. Cool vid.

My craziest neck catches in a snare. A grouse in a fox snare. A lynx in a 3 foot loop 1/8 cable aet for wolf. But I've caught plenty of bobcats and lynx in snares made for coyotes. The thing about cats, all is needed is for the bottom of the loop to hit their chest and for it to fire as designed. Wish we could use them here in Oklahoma.

Oh I forgot to say you should try making your own sifters!! I make my own and it only takes me about 5 minutes to make one if that!! I just have some wire panels I’m not exactly sure what the name of the stuff is but it has maybe 1/4 squares all over it and I just cut two pieces and 4 pieces of 1x4x3” make a box out of them using screws to hold together and then staple the crap out of the wire screen I cut to fit the outer edges of the box and then put the second piece on top with the wire offset so that the wire doesn’t hit the wires on the first piece!!! I am still using the first one I made way back in the early 2000s!!! I didn’t think it would last but maybe a couple years of all the abuse and getting stuff thrown on top of it in my trapping bag but it is definitely strong and definitely sifts the dirt really nice and it makes really fine piece witch I think helps make the traps bed down nicely!!! You should make some to show some of the younger ones that are wanting to get into trapping and help them save some money or help save more money to buy traps!!! Lol!!!

When I first learn to trap a buddy taught me we would hang up sardines and just lay traps on the ground man I trapped a raccoon and a coyote step in the other coon trap so then him and a coyote got in a fight to bad I used a tree to small they went round and round until they cut the tree down so the coyote ran off with my trap and I guess the pack killed and ate the raccoon cause there was only a leg left to bad there was trail cams with video back then bet it was wild lol

Channel lock makes a linesman looking player that’s called ironworkers. They have a bent up handle on one side and have a spring in them to cut wire faster. They are used for one handed use and resets fast for wire tying on forms or rebar. Farm and Fleets or Amazon have them for like $35. Much faster for cutting than those you’re using. Just a thought.

Justin what another awesome day on the trap line for you!!! What is that now 3 bobcats so far at Flairs ranch??? That’s pretty awesome for sure!!! I didn’t think that there would be that many bobcats in the same area but then again I would definitely think that there would be a pair at least but maybe there is several pairs?? Every time I see them around my place I will always see 2 running together!!! I seen two earlier this summer!! I was on my way back home and about maybe a half mile from home around 9:00am and I seen two of them out in a hay field about two farms from my place!!! And actually my barbers boy built a house just north of me and when I was actually at the barber he had asked me if I had seen any lately??? I told him it had been two or 3 months since I had!!! He said that his boy had a few of them on his trail cameras!!! Well then on my way home I seen those two and thought that was kinda weird!!! Lol!!! We definitely have quite a few around my place for sure but always thought just maybe two or three!!! Awesome video trapper J!!!!

Just curious as ive heard other trappers say they have better luck if trigger is on side they think animal is coming that direction from? Does it seem to metter to you? I know you have no idea which way animals coming but have you noticed one way more than the other as far as when you set trap? Relax all you bear grylls killers its just a question. I. Not even a trapper but love it.
