@@emilysavage2151 Nope. The clean cut 60s beach look at the beginning followed by a more hippie look followed by cheesy tropical shirts and a dig at "the later more commercial stages of our career. The California back drop and beachy vibes throughout the whole thing. The fact that beginning sounds like "Fun Fun Fun" while the part that Josh and Darryl sing is a clear parody of "Kokomo". This is the Beach Boys through and through.

I thought about the Beach Boys first but the experimental stage REALLY made me think about the Beatles, and then the commercial stage totally lost me. Glad I checked the comment section, ahah!

I don't think it's that people intentionally treat him badly, it's more that he's such a pushover that he becomes an easy target for everyone else's frustrations. Thats why I loved it so much that he stood up for himself in this episode while also acknowledging his own flaws. He showed some real character development and I'm living for it bc Daryl is such a sweetheart

The Beach Boys in my Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? YES PLEASE. This is undoubtedly my favorite song in the show. Sounds like they parodied 'Fun, Fun, Fun', 'Caroline, No', and of course 'Kokomo'. Freaking genius.

The middle section I think is a tribute to the whole Pet Sounds album. That album has random animal noises that aren't really part of a song, and Rachel barks.

YES! I am newer to this show but this is exactly my thoughts. When they touched, I soaked it up. Love them so much. Season 4 broke my heart a little. I needed a little bit more of them. But I love every moment that we got.

I work on a self-driving/mapping project that travels around the country, and this song is a 100% accurate depiction of my life. Everyday is a struggle to not push my coworker out the door and laugh as they cartwheel off a cliff in comedic fashion.

Every week I am more impressed by this show. Going to be sad when it ends.

My favourite game to play with these songs is imagining how they came to be - for this one, the characters' boredom was so powerful they reached across the psychic plane to do a Beach Boys number together. Or, y'know, the other characters told Rebecca about their experience afterwards and she retroactively fitted them into her song...
