before I had a car, I had been asked many times by men if I wanted a ride where I was going. I always declined. But, honestly, if it were a friends dad or something like that, I may have said yes. This could have been any of us. I am extremely weary and paranoid of everyone because of stories like this.

It's not just girls, either. As a teenager going home from high school, I was offered a ride on NUMEROUS occasions by different men and a few women. I always said no, made up some lie that my house was right around the corner, or said that I was going to my mom's or dad's store/business right there to get them to leave me alone.

i really hate that the adoptive parents didn’t let her have supervised visits with joey. he was 15 when she got out and they could have had some sort of relationship. but as the years passed the kid (now 21) still to our knowledge hasn’t seen his mom because at this point he probably doesn’t have any curiosities because he’s a grown adult content with his life. and that’s fine it’s just really sad for michelle because she didn’t ask to get kidnapped, and all she wanted was to get him back

How incredible is Michelle? Just wow, she’s so inspirational and strong.

Michelle didn’t abandon her son. Michelle was going to court for her son. She wasn’t asked to be kidnapped. 😢 shouldn’t be punished more than she has suffer. All those years ... she had her son on her mind. The people that adopted her son .... very cold blooded. If any normal humans would had seen the situation and give her son back to her. Work little by little so he could give them to get to know each other. Her son was keeping her strong. Karma will get this couple!

Honestly these women are inspiring! Even after the trauma they went through they came out stronger, powerful, and beautiful inside and out! They are proof that even after the darkest of times there can be healing and light!

Such amazing women, strong women, strong amazing survivors. Thank you Michelle, Amanda & Gina for having the strength to tell us your traumatic very painful personal story. To go through something like that & come out of it with such beautiful, kind, compassionate & loving hearts is truly an inspiration. I hope you already have or will soon find forever peace & happiness, you deserve it.

I hope one day her son finds her or she finds him 💔 she never gave up him never stopped fighting for him

Seeing Amanda's Mom cry made me cry.

She's so beautiful and strong and the fact she loves craves and is willing to be the mother she was robbed of being. The fact that the foster " parents " won't even give her the chance she deserves is sickening. I pray that God blessed her she too is nothing but loved and amazing

I can’t imagine knowing my family is worried sick about me and I can’t let them know I am ok. I can’t imagine any of it. Life is already hard enough. These girls are incredibly strong and brave to pick themselves up and continue living their lives.

I cried watching this. These girls are very very brave. God bless them always. Truly a heartbreaking story.

Michelle is such a strong person! How was she looked over for Person of the Year?

10 years. That is unfathomable. The world keeps moving forward while you’re stuck in hell. That is one sadistic boy. These women are complete warriors to be able to function and have the will to live after being so dehumanized for so long, ESPECIALLY at such a young age. Those are important years developmental wise and it was taken away from them because some sick bastard had a twisted fantasy. And he didn’t even pay for it, he committed suicide. Not surprising. Good luck to the women, it’s amazing that they’re speaking out to the children about being safe.

A young lady with such a super strength , she deserves a super medal , Michelle had super woman powers , what a fabulous young lady , I admire her so much !! 🤲🏾💕

Ariel Castro used his daughters friendships to lure these girls in and he almost got his brothers in trouble with this mess even though they were innocent. I watched an interview with his brothers and he brought so much shame on their family. It's so sad. Cuz the little girl he had with Amanda is their family too and they said she'll never know how good of a family they actually are because of Ariel.

I drove past Seymour Ave the other month and where the house once stood is now a beautiful garden area

This story has me thinking twice about taking a ride from someone you know. Never know what's on someone's mind💯. Everyone take care & stay vigilante.

Marcus Maximus maybe not as strong as men , but its still a story of struggle and overcoming. The women certainly weren’t taken care of by their parents like they should have.

You just cannot make believe the Neighbors never heard anything or saw anything strange. I think this neighborhood is like Detroit here. Everyone minds their own business to the point of ignoring terrible crimes around them. Sad mentality.

A neighbor actually called the police when they heard some screaming in the house however Castro didn't answer when the police knock so they left and didn't found anything

i’m reminded of their story everyday when I see Amanda on Fox 8 News everyday, missing with Amanda Berry. Awful I didn’t know what was going on when it was happening in my own city.

Cici Kathleen that’s a lie. It’s all about being empathetic and sitting and listening to someone, I’ve been thru rehab therapy for trauma drugs etc. so I know a lot about mental health and how therapist work. That’s exactly what not to do. And she’s been in the game long enough to know that.

Good question but nobody knew about Michelle going missing. I don't believe her Mom reported her missing right away. Even if police would've gotten involved, that surveillance footage from the dollar store would've already been recorded over after about a week or so and gone forever. Nobody would've even thought about checking the dollar store. By the time word got around there would be no footage.

He said his dog just had puppies and it would only take 2 minutes for him to get one for her. She came in to see them, and that’s where everything went sour. Again, don’t quote me on that. It was the movie, I don’t know if that’s the correct story.

Marcie, Michelle was walking to her appointment and she got lost so she went into a family dollar to ask someone for directions and before the person she asked their was Castro telling Michelle he new where the place was so she walked out of family dollar with Castro and got in his car and she then realized that he wasn't going the way to her appointment and Castro told Michelle that he had to run to his house then once they were their he went into the house Michelle waiting in the car and then she ended up in the house because Castro said their was puppies then the hell began for 11 years for Michelle. Michelle didn't louse her son because of anything she did her mother's boyfriend at that time was drunk and angry took it all out on Michelle son and broke his leg until the bones snapped and the day she was kidnapped she was working on getting her son back but because she was kidnapped they figured she was a run away and she wasn't even look for by no one not even her mom....her mom moved to Florida when Michelle disappeared. Her new name is Lily Rose Lee she's married but can't have anymore kids because of the severe abuse he did to Michelle with her 5 miscarriages.

Michelle's son would be 19 or 20 now. I wonder if they were able to connect at this point?

I just don't understand why she keeps lying-if ur late for Ur court hearing to get ur child back, why r ur stopping by his house b4 ur due in court knowing u r late?

We used to have pay phones all over the place. Gosh it’s been a long time since I heard that word pay phone been years we don’t have anymore of those,

It’s sad that it is the best friends father. Really sad. Sadder that the girls didn’t help her friend. Like Ik it’s not there fault but look in the basement.

Part of me thinks ariel castro finally gave up and let the girls free or maybe thought he could trust them. He left all their doors unlocked that day and let his daughter Jocelyn roam freely. I feel he didnt want to ever lock Jocelyn up in chains and knew one day it would have to come to that cause she keeps getting older and will hate his guts so I think to save some face and the image of him loving her and to make her not hate him as much he decided he would chance this and give his trust and let the girls unlocked even if it meant they escaped. I think Jocelyn played a huge role in why those doors were unlocked. One day all these girls will unite again together and hug each other.

Yes,that little girl was the reason they are freed. He had a soft spot for her. She must have loved him and that humanized him a little. He wanted her to have a normal life . She is scarred too,by losing her father.

I hope one day Michelle and her Son Reunites 🙏🏽 she's such an incredible strong woman they all are however Michelle endure alot before she got kidnapped an while an even after ....

I pray that one day Michelle will again see and hug her son, Joey. I wonder if he now knows?
