If you pay attention, there's a scene where the father walks with some police officers. You can see the communicator wire going down behind his ear. There's a high chance he is a federal officer, tailing the killer.

I think (SPOILER ALERT)... The father's really a psychic profiler who ends up working with the FBI and the dark moments we see hinting at him being the killer is hom getting into the killer's head.

Good react bro but this movie is Horseshit! I mean, how kind of the police to reveal their ENTIRE plan to Jamie the Merch guy...what kind of lazy writing is that! He'll probably sacrifice his daughter and frame Jamie as the butcher. Roll credits.
