Trap of Gold - Louis L'Amour in his own words

Ойын-сауық

From the L'Amour ranch in Colorado, you can look across the ridge at a bunch of mountains where there are a dozen lost gold mines. At least two of them are within the range of your vision. In his own words, Louis shares his experiences and the history, danger and discovery of gold mining in the days before the jeep, when the donkey was king. This is his introduction to TRAP OF GOLD, an audio book and one of the short stories in The Collected Short Stories of Louis L'Amour, Volume 1.
TRAP OF GOLD deals with the story of a man who found gold, and what he had to do to get it. When every minute of working was a minute when he might be killed. A story which has inspired and intrigued generations!

Thanks so very much for all the time. When you're out in the oceans of this world stuck on a Navy vessel, you need some time away. The time was always there, between the covers of your books.

Loved that story but couldn't remember what it was called. I recall the suspense as the miner returned each time to the crumbling walls to pull out just one more shovel of ore. Magnificent story telling!

Agreed. I started reading L'Amours westerns in my 20's. Always felt like I was living the books.

@@mmabagain Just before I graduated high school I found out a teacher liked him and told him I started reading him. I’ve been devouring his books since 2008. I’m about to upload The Haunted Mesa (my favorite) on my channel and I’ve already uploaded Horse Heaven, What Gold Does To A Man, Man Riding West, Rain On The Mountain Fork. His books are true experiences.

He paints the land in words that make his stories come alive in our minds. His characters have personalities that show their weakness and strengths

He wanted to simply be remembered as a good story teller;...I'd say Mr.L'Amour achieved that humble wish.

@@rudymartinez6242 Indeed, I should put both on my channel now that I’ve done quite a few of Louis.
