I started out as a child in 1950 and was pulling tankers interstate when I was 18 hauling phenol, formaldehyde, and other crazy stuff like my dad did. That was before bottom loading, DOT, EPA, and OSHA. Back then it was just the ICC and Markal. Today I oversee a fleet for company I work for. Best company job I ever had as a driver was Anchor Motor Freight delivering cars out of GM's Linden plant. How about you?

Newfieguy89, That was how I got started too, only I put over a million miles on cab overs before I finally got out and started driving conventionals. A world of difference. I'm retired now, as of January 31, 2022 over 43 years. The last 2 were the worst.

nice videos. Transtars were neat. I learned to drive on Emeryvilles and any stretched wheelbase on a COE with air ride rode like a bus and preferred them over hoods. Gave you a better view of women passing by. Drove a white S/A RC coffin cab with big cam 400 ONCE. Never liked them. Thanks again.

I take it you're calling the Emeryville the goat? Never heard that one before,of course I'm a little young to have been around the Emeryvilles! Grew up slobbering about the Transtars though. To me,they were what a truck was! Still love em. There's a guy farms around us that has a Transtar 10 wheeler grain truck. I love it!
