Transport Fever - Ep. 1 - Train Basics (Passing Loops, Signals, etc.) - Transport Fever Gameplay

Let's Play Transport Fever!
In this episode we start on a new world! When I did the first look vid, I was so amazed with the game but I didn't know much about it yet and I think I didn't make the best decisions. Now that I know more, I think it's best if we start fresh and try to do this the right way. We start by creating our first cargo trains, adding passing loops and basic signals for multiple train support.

About the Game:
Transport Fever is a railroad-focused tycoon game. Players start in 1850 and build up a thriving transport company. As an emerging transport tycoon, the player constructs stations, airports, harbors and makes money by connecting areas requiring transport services.
Construct complex road-rail-water-air networks in the endless game and experience more than 150 year of transportation history. Fulfill the people’s needs and watch cities evolve dynamically. Supply industries with freight, develop complete cargo chains and enable economic growth. Build up a transport empire!
Master challenges and get entertained in the campaign game mode. Two campaigns consisting of a multitude of missions with increasing difficulty can be tackled. Missions of the American and the European campaign tell the historical context of the 19th and 20th century and offer a wide range of realworld transportation challenges.

    What you are calling a passing lane, it is called a siding. It’s more of a parking space for trains along the lines to trade out crew members but is also used on a single track line so that trains running late or In the other direction can pass. You can use passenger bus stops to deliver cargo with in the city with out building two truck stops.

    Hello from the Future :) . Just bought this at like 4 Euros from Steam ( I like buying dated, but good games rly cheap, and TF2 is still too expensive XD ) a few days ago, and am having enormous fun figuring everything out . FIrst few starts ofc didnt go rly well, but by now I am having a 1850 map at around 1.5 mio profit/yr. in 1883 already . The intricacies regarding routeplanning are great to learn and work with . Thanks for the playlist, looking forward to watch it all and see what I can learn from your playthrough :) .

    first of all a nice video, secondly, I did the first 150 to 200 years using only passenger trains and they grow very well even without cargo planes or boats. At that time you unlock all good vehicles and in the time of +/- 200 years a good banking account of about 1000 million. and third might be an idea, for example, do not connect a train at a road if the costs are high but so building this building just off the road will not give you unnecessary costs for the burial of the entire station. then make a connection to the road so you can save enormous costs. Have fun playing ;)

    Great video! I love the game so far and you are one of the channel's who inspired me to play! BUT I am a bit confused on something in the game regarding cargo transport. I made a train line from the farm to the factory, production started, no problems there. From there I made a line from the factory to the city, wanting to transport the final goods (food) into the city (then once it's in the city it is further transported by trucks, the same system you have in this video except it is not for food). This was a separate line obviously with a separate train. There is one problem, the factory produces food but does not transfer it to the station to be transported. It just sits in the factory. It is connected to the factory and the train has the right wagons. Any idea?

  • @TheClumsyGeekGaming

    @TheClumsyGeekGaming

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Silverbladestudios glad to hear it! About your question: main thing I could think of is it should be in the catchment area. Factory should light up when clicking the train station, truck station should be close to train station in the city, and finally the line for the trucks in the city should go to a station which has commercial bldgs (blue) in the catchment area.

  • @QSmally
    @QSmally7 жыл бұрын

    Name your lines and write the colour and the name on paper, later make a 'To Do List'. Like make a City//City train line, or connecting a tram line. R of course replacing some old vencles with newer ones. By the way, you make great videos! I subbed! -Smally

    Im trying to speed up the production of an oil line. So I made another train track, bought a train. My problem is when i set up my line, my trains share the same track instead of taking the other available line. My first line and second line are the same btw. But I want the trains to use two separate tracks.

  • @TheClumsyGeekGaming

    @TheClumsyGeekGaming

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Mark Yanuaria it's kind of hard to explain in text, but what you most likely need to create is a track that connects the 2 tracks you have so the trains can switch lane when they switch directions. You'll can also put in signals, click them, make them 1-way to force the trains to find a different track if they're going the opposite direction.

  • @Voidheartd

    Just keep in mind that one line can only utilize a single platform at a station. If you want to use more than one platform for the same thing, you'll have to setup separate lines. The game will automatically put the lines onto different platforms.

    in regards to train 'passes'. Is it possible to make a line that goes from destination A to destination B with 2 trains. The line starts single and changes to parallel. So train A uses left side track, train B uses right side. The signals stop them from using the single lines at the same time. Tried it, but couldnt work it out :S

  • @TheClumsyGeekGaming

    @TheClumsyGeekGaming

    +Indigo Foxx I did something similar in this vid, if I remember correctly. You put the signals right before the lanes merge, one on each side. We're not able to test this until a few more episodes, though, since trains are expensive especially in the beginning, but I'm sure it works from my other saved games.

  • @TheSometimeAfter

    thanks clumsy, appreciate the comment. Soon after I posted that I managed to get it working by using only 2 signals. I was going a bit overboard with the number of signals I was using I guess. Both were set to stop an incoming train from going onto the single track. Worked :)
