When you built the airport, you state that it costs a ton of money, however - much of the cost you had was for the terrain modification that was needed to flatten the area, not the airport itself.

A small airport is a flat 5 million I think, without terrain modification. You can build a small to medium sized train network for that one airport. And you need at least one more. The large one (that he has built) is I think 10 million or more base cost (not quire sure)? They really are expensive, to the point where the terrain modification isn't necessarily a major percentage (but it seems it was at least a third of the cost, or thereabouts).

@@TheCreat by the time you factor in locomotive and railcar costs, a small train line (for example a crude to oil to fuel line plus the trucks for final delivery, all fairly close together) will be in the neighborhood of $10mil for just 2 trains plus the line. For a full operation line with 5+ trains you'll be pushing 25 mil and that's before you get into more expensive trains.

Imagine being a pilot and have to fly a plane 5 monthes

It was not confirmed, it is also said to only have flown twice and were escorted with 4 B36s. But nonetheless these planes are not nuclear powered but they never crash so I guess we'll never find out.

Parallax the part of the story that a lot of people are not familiar is while the US designed and successfully tested this concept it was the Soviets that actually built it because they didn’t really care about the radiation exposure like the US did so they managed to keep the aircraft relatively light weight using a unique shielding design along with a single loop reactor design (less safety/easier/lighter). Ironically enough that was 50 years ago and now nuclear ram jets have again peaked Russia’s interest and that it was rumored that’s what they were testing when they had a large explosion at one of their nuclear/weapons testing complexes last August.

OK.. let's see something that will not actualy work.. a simple way is that how the fuck you clean your plane wings and fuselage off the debries that will build up over that period.. and how that plane will actualy still flying just because of that matter only.? Not to mention the area you said those planes will fly.. Nordic one.. how about the ice building up on those planes in the air. They will friking drop like a hammers after a period of time or simple desintegrate.

The months part is flawed, but the idea of the plane making more with distance is true. The part of operating that most strains a plane is takeoff and landing, so the more time in air between takeoff and landing the better. At least in passenger airlines, long haul flights make more due to more expensive tickets, and only cost marginally more because of fuel.

@@tbird81 You should in essence be able to make the plane route unsustainable if you had closer ways of transporting the fuel.

Passengers have different travelling habits based on the class of passenger. Class 1 passengers prefer cheaper forms of transport whereas class 5 want the fastest transport possible regardless of cost. Even so running passengers over long distance is the best option and then use a train network to diverge them from the airport.

@@FerociousHypercube It's based on the building tiers in each city. T1 Buildings are Low Income, T2 are Med income and T3 are high income. Generally High Income prefers speed over costs.

Love your video, but the way you put your roads in just get my OCD going.

In the Truck Station by the Airport you didn’t have to make that C-shape road, you can add another exit from the side you need.

You shoud also take care that the *rate* of the lines match. In this case, the truck line should have double the rate of the airline because two units of crude oil are needed for one unit of refined oil. You can check the rate in the line statistics panel.

Planes are just ludicrously overpowered especially on bigger maps. Start a map with the largest size and longest aspect, do exactly what he’s doing here across the long edge, and you can be making like 20mil a year with one 757.

Bit cheesy, but this could be a fun way to start a game because it looks like if done right you can be printing money within a few years.

Bit of incorrect info regarding the 2nd runway but you know that now :) and the placement of the airport in the hill actually set my heart racing and my OCD went off 🤣

I think you can exploit this. When you have 2 cities meet their fuel consumption. You should try to transfer only the fuel by plane from both cities to eachother. And delivery the fuel from the airport to the cities. By doing so, the planes will have a full load when departing from both airports.

They do actually have an option where you can add an extra runway. It is in the MISC option when configuring.

Is the "full load" function gone? why not set a line with full load at least on the first airport?

I imagine the best use would be as part of a frieght hub where it may be taking one product out but bringing another back

You can actually change the ingame time/date ratio. Just click in the bottom right on the date and there you can change it. It just takes your plane a few "days" but hey... its something ^^"

Reportedly airports work well now for passengers, too. I personally haven't tested it, but they seem to be viable. let's hope so. Obviously only for situations where planes actually make sense, so going across half the map or further, not hopping over to the next town.

Hellow there and happy new year, Does this technique of transporting fuel on planes works in Transport Fever one?

What I just do is create some railway lines that connect to a single, huge city at either sides of the map, without connecting said lines to the others. For example, I create railway lines 1, 2 and 3 to a single city. Then I create railway lines 4, 5 and 6 to another city. Lines 1-3 can connect to each other, 4-6 can, too, just remember not to mix any line from 1-3 to 4-6, and viceversa. Then stick an airport to the main city of each set of lines and it'll make you some profit (it works for me)

I'm thinking of getting this but haven't yet. What's the difference between the different kinds of airfields/airports? I noticed that various lists categorise aircraft as "light" and "heavy". Is it like Transport Fever 1 where you can put any aircraft in any airport with the medium/large ones being more efficient, or is it like Locomotion where you will need to upgrade your initial airports in order to even use later aircraft?

Seeing such game doesn't reflect to reality: truck cargoing crude oil shouldn't run in the downtown; second, in the air field, shouldn't be birds flying within there, both could cause huge trouble. But considering even people could walk through any trees and objects, I don't find it unlikely to happen.

There is definitely an additional runway you can plop down. I dont know how to unlock it but I had it available in my game

Stealth17 Gaming Yep. The date is 1980. It doesn’t make much sense that we’d have to wait that long for second runways, but that’s how it is.

How to make money with planes: "Carry freight long distance in both directions". I mean, yeah....but that's true of every mode.....

Easily fixable by the cost being calculated from the closest source opportunity to that town and not from the one that you've chosen. The cost should be solid, not floating. It also would make a lot of sense. I hope they will fix that. You will still need planes - both for passengers and for those resources that actually are distant from the target city.

No the airport doesn't accept cargo that it doesn't have a destination for. Production chains only work if all parts are fulfilled by a vehicle.

I just spotted here the same problems with TF1, no enough runways, peps don't pay to long-range flys. etc. they just changed the aesthetics but not the logic.

You can add runways as needed. The airports are modular.

I have one question: it clearly showed that the plane was earning more than enough to cover its upkeep, with a significant amount of additional profits coming in. Does that amount shown also account for the upkeep/maintenance etc for both of the airports also? Or is that number also included with the other numbers shown? My computer's monitor is kinda lousy and so even zoomed in a bit I can't read things well enough to answer the question myself. Also - I apologize if you actually answered my question in the narration already and I just missed it. Oops, one more: is the full game available on Steam now? Thank you for the video/content - looks like a cool game. This info, and the other tutorials, will definitely be helpful once I can pick up the game (if it is available now I probably can't afford it yet, but I'll definitely pick it up once I'm able.

No, as far as I know the cost/gains chart that you see on the plane only covers the plane's own costs. In the profit/loss statement you can see the gains from all lines + airport costs. The game will be available next week

The plane reached a little over 700 kmh before decelerating again, it would be good to consider using a slower plane anyways. You cant pick a plane thats too slow because it wouldnt be going back and forth often enough to make money

The "date" counter in this game is not very robust in its functionality. It's more like just an arbitrary counter ticking along gradually for you to unlock new vehicles and not really useful for anything else.

Do you know you can pause/stop vehicles by clicking the "Power" button in the follow vehicle window? That way you can make sure at the start that they are fully loaded (manually) Or didnt you do that on purpose? Thanks for the videos, I learned a lot from them

only planes i use are cross map quarrys cause i cant get 1 iron for a steel plant or atone for bricks i make 7.5 mil profit from one single one way stone to bricks airline

adding more planes to that rout would be less profitable than a single plane. More money to run the planes, and the planes will run 1/2 to 1/3 full with the production rate of crude oil, and oil.

Does anybody have a clue why the cargo does not appear at my airport? I should be connected to the factory, because it has a white box around it. Yet the Cargo plane always leaves empty. At the Truck Cargo zone connected to the factory the Cargo stacks up and even when it is overloaded the factory doesn't use the airport. Can anybody help me?

I have the same thing. It's very annoying. Especially since I was recording episodes multiple times and the game crashes. A game crash means an entirely unuseable video file. Hope they fix it soon.

What make no sense for this game that a airplane will take that long to go from one place to other, that is not realistic.

This game knowledge destroyed the game. Let's hope they fix it soon because every game i start now and I'm in trouble I'm setting up this. 😑

Its kinda unrelistic because why would it take 3-5 days just for an airplane to get from the runway to the gate xD

6:52: Bombardier pronounced bomb bard eh. Its the name of the manufacturer, not the aircraft. Its a bit like calling a sedan a Ford. Anyway, it'd be nice if the airports were a bit more flexible. Runways, IRL, are not perfectly flat (I used to work at a small airport where the east end of the 3,000ft runway was 50 feet higher than the west end.) The grass does not need to be perfectly level. You can have a cliff off the end of the runway (steel towers for the approach lights are far cheaper than landscaping.) Retaining walls can be built. You get the idea. Airports could be far cheaper if the game didn't force you to make them as flat as Kansas.

The maximum number of goods transported by a single aircraft is 54? It's really very weak, as in TF1 (with mods I think?). A big cargo ship in TF2 can store more than 100 goods... Too bad, it will still be useless :/
