Transom Mount Trolling Motor on Bow Bracket

Ойын-сауық

How to make an inexpensive bracket for your transom mount trolling motor on the bow of jon boat. This can be done on metal or wood. I made an article on here - www.jtgatoring.com/transom-mo...
Trolling Motor - Motor guide VariMAX Great White 12v 55lb, 36inch shaft
Wiring Kit - amzn.to/2zavE8H - this is a similar one you would need to buy the connectors to put onto your trolling motor like I did here are the connectors - amzn.to/2tTXUYb
The batteries I use for my trolling motor are the deep cycle Interstate batteries. They have a bright green top. I will have them in upcoming videos.

I found two trolling motors at the dump , one that went on the back of the boat, the other was a foot control. The foot control one , the wires were cut but I fixed it to work, made a control box for it. The transom motor had a short in the control, I fixed it. Got both to work great.

Thanks for sharing. Is your bracket mounted to the metal of boat or wood? Curious how the rivnut system is holding up to the torque of the motor.

I have put more hours on this trolling motor bracket and deck than I have on my mud motor. It has held up great. The deck is bolted to the seat of the jon boat with rivnuts as the nuts and I used stainless bolts to secure the deck down to the metal seats. The trolling motor bracket is only screwed on the deck. No bolts or mounting through metal. I just put the bracket on top of the deck and screwed it down with a couple of screws. No play or wiggle. Still solid.

Good luck! Before taking it out on the water, I would test it out without screwing it in and make sure it will reach the normal water line on your boat. Let me know how it goes +sgtkrazykramer!
