Transitive and Intransitive Phrasal Verbs in English

In this English lesson we learn the difference between TRANSITIVE phrasal verbs and INTRANSITIVE phrasal verbs.
We start by looking at simple transitive verbs and what they are. Next we look at transitive phrasal verbs with examples sentences.
Then we learn about intransitive verbs and what they are. Next we look at intransitive phrasal verbs with examples sentences.
Then we compare a phrasal verb that can be both transitive AND intransitive and how they have different meanings and uses.
We also touch upon the position of object with some transitive phrasal verbs.

Hello sir, I hope you are fine. I have a question, kindly help me. I have studied in many books that object pronouns can be placed between main verb and particle but I saw some examples where object pronouns are used at the end. Examples are: Carol ran into her. Carol heart about it. Carol will get off it. Her and it are object pronouns, aren't they? If so, so why are they used at the end. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

Usually they are AFTER a verb. There are some exceptions with some of the transitive PHRASAL VERBS where the object can sometimes go in the middle.

It depends on the phrasal verb. When you learn a new one, you also need to learn whether it can be separated.

The girls are dancing. Is this a transitive verb?

Dance is a verb that can be used as a transitive verb and an intransitive verb. That is, when “dance” is used with an object, it functions as a transitive verb. In your example “dance” is not followed by an object so it functions as an intransitive verb.
