Hello Kindred Spirits! We're back with part 3 of transitioning your kitchen from Made in China to Made in America. Changing out your Chinese products to American-made can be done all at once. But most of us with budgets have to do it little by little, product by product slowly replacing items. And there are so many ways and options to do it. Why do it? Watch the first video, then onto the second video.
Let me know if you're embarking on switching over your kitchen!

I love Pyrex. Another good US brand is Fire King. We find a lot of vintage kitchen items at Goodwill and a Christian thrift shop nearby.

I would agree with you, but Pyrex and especially Corelle tends to splinter into tiny pieces when it breaks. For that reason my mother refused to use it for baking, and used enamel instead of other metal pans instead. I recently had a bad fall in my kitchen while holding a Corelle plate which shattered, pieces cutting right through a nail, leaving splingers under the skin in another finger causing considerable blood loss, along with cuts on my knee. As someone taking Warfarin, having any material likely to cause bleeding is not a good idea.

The old and the new Pyrex have pros and cons. The vintage Pyrex can break a little more easily than the new Pyrex if dropped. The old Pyrex handles higher temperatures better. How do you know which you have? Vintage Pyrex has their name in caps!I love my Pyrex!

I recently purchased cut glass water goblets, a note inside them gave instructions to fill the glasses with 50% water and 50% vinegar and let them stand overnight. It said that was to remove lead from the glasses before use. I have never come across such a warning. The glasses are of good quality otherwise.

Wow! I've never heard that before. It would be good for you to pick up this lead test that I recommend in this video. That way you could verify that the vinegar actually worked! Thanks for sharing! 🌿

Perhaps but the items are American made. Handmade. I do like supporting my fellow American artisans. It's about getting free from Made in China products. Be sure to watch my other 2 suggested videos on why I decided to transition my kitchen. Thanks for sharing! 🌿
