Transit to Parks: Almaden Quicksilver County Park

This week's Transit to Parks feature is Almaden Quicksilver County Park. In partnership with the Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights Initiative, VTA is enhancing park access for Santa Clara County residents. According to the initiative, every child has the right to climb a local mountain, and Almaden Quicksilver is a perfect spot. On weekdays, hop on the 83 bus and enjoy a quick half-mile walk to the Mockingbird entrance.
Trailhead Amenities: Bathrooms, water, picnic tables
Things to See: Spring/summer flowers, wildlife, old mercury mine ruins
Safety Tips: Wear sun protection, bring plenty of water, stay on trails to avoid poison oak, check for ticks after your hike, and keep a safe distance from rattlesnakes and other wildlife.
Thanks to our partners: Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, County of Santa Clara Public Health Department, San José Parks Recreation and Neighborhood Services, County of Santa Clara, California, Health Net LLC, CalFresh Healthy Living UCCE Santa Clara County
