I wonder if you have ever heard of a type of makeup called "half-face makeup." Those who appreciate Chinese aesthetics might be familiar with this term.
The ancient-style illustrator Gu Geli once created a piece called "Half-Face Makeup." In this artwork, the depicted beauty wears half a mask, and the overall style of the painting is extraordinarily beautiful. Half-face makeup also has historical origins. It is associated with the same historical figure as the saying "A lady is still charming even when she is half old," referring to the "Mistress" Xu Zhaopei.

Absolutely stunning work! But, ouch on teachers words to redo. Worth it in the end though as the results are just beautiful. Having an honest teacher is wonderful and will improve our work by so much, even though it hurts to hear it's not up to standard the first time round. But this is the best way to learn :)
