At 7:42 & 8:42, y=-f(x), would the answer given not be the maximum point, as the whole equation was flipped (reflection) in terms of y? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Aslan Earley y=f(2x) halves the x values (y stays the same) and y=3f(x) multiplies the y by 3 (x stays the same).

Hi! If U mean what will happen if U put new argument (1/2x) instead of x the answer is: y(x)=x^2; no U have y(1/2x)=1/4 x^2 so all your y-values decreased 4 times. Visually it means you have a horizontal stretch of your basic parabola

its opposite, when its +2 it goes left and when -2 it goes right, but this only applies to movement through the x axis

@@nishantharanasinghe3622 Hi, so if you need to translate horizontally by 3 units to the right you use f(x-3), to the left f(x+3). vertical by 3 units up -> f(x) + 3, so kind of beyond the function you adding 3. - before function works as the scale factor (-1) like -f(x) and makes all the values for f(x) having opposite signs.
