TRANSFORMING EDUCATION SYSTEMS FOR SUSTAINABLE FUTURES:THEMATIC AREAS DISCUSSIONS

Participants in the Rwanda Engagement on Transforming Education Systems for Sustainable discussed the following thematic areas in their respective groups :
Group 1: EDUCATION FOR DECENT WORK, SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS AND JUST TRANSITIONS
Group 2: EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
Group 3: EDUCATION FOR CLIMATE ACTION
Group 4: CROSS-CUTTING INEQUALITIES (POVERTY, GENDER, INDIGENEITY) AND ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS.
Each group sought to respond to the following key questions:
a. What is the overall relevance of this thematic area for Rwanda?
b. What are the main opportunities available for sustainable future (SF)
and/or sustainable development in the thematic area?
c. What are the main challenges for sustainable future (SF) and/or
sustainable development in the thematic area?
d. How do education systems need to change if they are to address these
challenges?
