Transforming a cluttered craft room for a woman with PTSD and lupus

The woman I am helping in this video has PTSD after being kidnapped and held captive as a teenager. She is extremely lucky to be alive after her traumatic ordeal. She also was recently diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disorder, that causes her to be fatigued and have tremors among other things. I will be organizing her craft room and creating a space for her to use her Cricut and other things she uses for her online business. She deserves a beautiful and clean space for her crafting as it brings her a lot of joy.
Thank you to all of my awesome viewers who have donated through PayPal and through SuperThanks to help purchase items for the homeowners I help. If you would like to donate to help me buy a dishwasher for the homeowner I am currently helping as her 34-year-old dishwasher was kicked by her soon-to-be-ex-husband and has not worked properly since, you can donate through this link: www.youtube.co...
Any extra funds will go towards helping other homeowners with things that they need. Thank you so much!!

So sad that someone would post a comment like that. I've come to realize that human nature does have it pits! You can do two things: if commenting on a channel: Delete ... if you encounter someone with comments like that: say nothing that would give them the opportunity to put you down. I know an 85 YO woman who contradicts every thing I say so I no longer add lib bcuz this will give her the opportunity to contradict me. I change the subject even before she has the breath in her to say something! She was mentally and emotionally abused by her husband so I know that's her way of getting the upper hand...unfortunately, it came too late for her. So, I let her be.🙏

Hi Bonnie. It isn’t your leggings that bother her it’s your smoking hot figure! Haters gonna hate! You look great and incredibly fit, she’s jealous. You do you! As far as Mack goes, he’s been a really big slacker IMO since the big collaboration with you and Barbie. I personally liked it when he cleaned and talked his nonsense throughout the video and threw in a spin kick here and there. I hope he gets back to that soon. Preferably in a skirt. I agree with the other commenters, I hope you help Mira with her craft room. You guys have a great rapport and she could surely benefit from your organizational skills. I can't wait until she gets to that! It will be even more fun because she can be there with me to actually give me some direction on where she wants things so I can organize it the way that she wants and also talk a little bit more about how and why I'm doing certain things where usually I'm not able to show the final result because, to keep the homeowner anonymous, I can only organize it so much and then they have to go through and pare down what they have and get it a bit more organized how they want.

As a crafter and though OCD neat, clean and organized in most areas of my life, the craft room is by far the hardest to do. Most projects don’t get done within an hour or two, meals to make, laundry, family, etc so it doesn’t make sense to put everything away each time you’re in there and can appear messy but we know where things are…usually 😂. I keep my supplies in clear shoe boxes with labels and stack them. That way I can easily see what I need. So nice to see your daughter and she’s so much fun like her mom. Bonnie, you are an amazing organizer and love your videos, awesome teamwork ❤. This crafter will love this!

I used to have a lot more craft supplies than I do now. I’m 65 years old now and have a shoulder and knee surgery in my near future. I finally realized that my dollhouse(and making the scale miniatures for it) and making simple anniversary and thank you cards were my two favorite craft projects that I do. I sold all the rest (silk flower arrangements, decoupage, stencils,.) at my garage sale and donated what didn’t sell and am SO RELIEVED!!!!!! When you don’t have the time or energy that you used to have, those things seem to taunt and nag at you more than they bring you enjoyment. I hope that she can pick a few favorites like sewing or whatever and let the rest go. The benefit will be that she’ll have more space to enjoy doing the crafts that she loves the most.👏

But when I need to do a craft project; I always end up doing it on top of the dryer...gotta find me another better spot. I hate plastic bins unless you are using them for storage, but I like things on a shelf on one level so you don't have to fight your way through other items. I rent and although my landlord doesn't restrict me in any way; I don't want to put too many holes on the wall when I leave. Hoping to get some ideas from you! 💝

The problem with all people who go into intense crafting situations is that they don't realise that they can't do it with random home furniture. They need to line the walls on 3 sides with proper floor to ceiling racking that is secured to the walls for safety, to store everything on and have a work bench on the other wall. They get into this mess because there just isn't enough storage space.

Very true. I know she didn't want to put a ton of holes in the wall since she rents this place, but she was told that if she does put up shelves and things, she needs to leave them when she moves out, but I bet some Ikea shelves would work really nicely in this room for her.

Yes, isn't that interesting how that works? I really had no idea how much genetics played a factor in autism. I'm listening to a podcast right now that talks a lot about that and how it's between like a 40 to 80% chance that, if you are autistic, you will also have an autistic child. So, it's very possible you are as well.

Those people complaining about your leggings probably never ever cleaned by themselves. If I am cleaning my home, do garden work or renovation or change wheels on my car, I always wear leggings (and I'm a woman in her sixties with a big butt), just because I can move without having to worry about my clothes being torn or hindering my movements. If they do not like what they see, they just should look away.

I loved watching the progression of her craft room from a pile to a beautiful work space. It was like magic before my eyes. Watching you and Colleen and Mac and a few others has been so much help. My mom used to tell me that if I was just clean for 15 minutes a day that everything would be better. What she didn't tell me was how to clean for those 15 minutes a day. I don't remember where I heard it but somebody said that concentrate on cleaning say just the dishes for 15 minutes a day and that was like a breakthrough to me. Now it's starting to make sense. And not only am I able to get that done but it's motivating me to also get to some of the other high traffic areas that need to be done and in so doing I am actually learning how to clean. And it's all because of you and the other influencers on KZread and I appreciate it so so much, Thank you.

Long comment but I'm going for it. I don't know how I stumbled on to your channel but it's mesmerized me for a large part of the day. For reasons that I won't bore anyone with (it was/is a medical issue) I have been in a wheelchair for 8 months and it's permanent. Rehab in a nursing home Easter to July 4th in 2023. Was in the hospital 6 times. Once was an entire 20 mile ambulance ride with no heartbeat. My wonderful husband is more of a stacker than a cleaner. He has been burning the candle at both ends just trying to keep up with my struggles plus he works 50 hours/week. We are older and the man is exhausted and I'm not that wife that complains non-stop. I'm so grateful for him. Yet, can't see our kitchen table or basically any flat surfaces in our house. Exception being a small counter for coffee pot. We can't afford to have someone come in to organize and clean but every room looks like an Amazon delivery truck blew up in it. Totes and sooooo much cardboard. Besides struggling with depression I am so overwhelmed. I allow 2 people inside; my husband and the guy who delivers oxygen or has to do maintenance on my oxygen concentrator. It's very embarrassing and makes me feel worthless. Add to that some weight gain because there's not a lot of exercise happening. I have a lot of medical issues and it just feels like this is my life from now on. Please don't say to just accept it because things will get better. Maybe. Maybe not. How can I motivate myself to get it done. I get in a room thinking 'okay, today's the day'. No can do. Did I mention it's overwhelming and stressful. What I could possibly reach isn't quite as bad as the stuff stacked on it. Stacked items are big boxes of paper towels, toilet tissue, boxes of paper plates, like 500 count boxes, boxes of paper bowls.....stuff I have no storage for and would look worse unboxed and put on the floor. I desperately need positive tips, tricks, advice, creative storage ideas as well as where to find motivation. Negativity won't help me or anyone else. As for the negative comments, why? Wouldn't your time and energy be better spent NOT watching the video just to be critical or unkind? Get off the internet and go help a neighbor or a friend, play with some kids, make a trip to a nearby nursing home and read to the residents who aren't able, so many things that would make you feel better about yourself instead of being a miserable person that feeds on making others miserable. Finally. There is an end to my questions and opinions. If you can help in any way thank you.

Your situation sounds pretty overwhelming. I'm sorry for all you're dealing with. 😔 First of all, where do you live? I am in Utah and really am only able to travel about an hour from my home to help people. I'm guessing the chances of you being in Utah are probably slim, but I still ask because there have been so many of my viewers who have expressed a desire to help others in this same way and I wonder if there are any of my viewers who happen to live close to you who could maybe give you some free help. I can ask on my channel Community page whether there is anyone who lives near you. Besides that suggestion, the only other thing I can think of is, as hard as it might be, to ask for help from a friend or family member. I know it's hard to let people see your home when you feel shame or embarrassment about it, but if no one knows you are struggling, then they can't help you. I think most people are pretty willing to help when asked. I know I feel valued and needed when someone asks for help or trusts me enough to share something with me that they are struggling with. So, if you reply with where you live, I can do my best to see if there is anyone out there who can help you, but beyond that, I'm not sure how much more I can really do.

Leggings are totally pants lol 😂 I do sometimes wear scrub pants depending on the job I'm on (if I think I might get bleach or something on me that may harm my beloved leggings). You do u!! Phenomenal job as always 😊 ps you never need to reply - just want to send my encouragement & help your channel if possible!
