I know that the CGI model is impossible to bring to the real world in that scale, but this figure is awasome, it does what it can with what it has, is in my opinion the best interpretation of this Optimus Prime design

There was an AOE Evasion Mode Optimus that had flames on it back in the AOE toyline.

I would be fine if this is the Studio Series release. I just hope they do a good paint job for the Nemesis Prime release.

I don't. Hasbro should get their shit together to do something about the backpack. Make it into the shield or something. Many people including myself just take out all the kibble and keep it in robot mode because it's a shell former

The inversed chest design on the box made me realize just how well this design would've fit Ultra Magnus.

in my opinion i love the AOE/TLK knight design of prime he just look so damn cool in that look

@@HelenaSan425 as you can see, the design is refer to knight, Look at the design of Optimus prime, Megatron etc. Anyway barricade looks different than 2007 TF Movie series who've Scary Perform at face, chainsaw, etc

It is cool, but the original design just made him look more like a leader and also it’s nostalgic for me.

The one thing this has over the much more complex KO versions like the unique toys challenger etc..is weapon storage. I love the fact that both the shield and sword can be stored away without obstructing the truck mode.

Love these reviews of older figures! Honestly, apart from wrist and ankle articulation, I don't see how they could improve upon this figure in terms of the mold. I would highly recommend you take a look at the Toyhax set for this figure, it really elevates him and gives him a load of flames that he's missing.

I love this version of Optimus Prime. I think the only one that could combat it, in my opinion, is the DOTM Optimus Prime with his trailer. But, one thing I would *LOVE* to see on either the actual figure, as an accessory, or as an upgrade kit, is a TLK Optimus Prime *unmasked* head. That would be absolutely killer awesome. In my opinion, anyway

Takara also gave us the TF5 Caliber Optimus.

Love this mold. The biggest sin is the lack of wrist articulation! Any sword using bot needs wrist articulation! At least the a swivel

@3:20 Michael Bay must've secretly been a G2 fan 'cause Optimus Prime having flames on the truck wasn't his own idea. The G2 Laser Optimus Prime 1995 toy turned into a Black Western Star 4964EX with Red flames and an oil-tanker trailer. *Which was later redecoed into RID 2001 Scourge, with his iconic Black/Grey, Teal, and Red color-sceme!!

This is probably the only version of this figure I like. All the kibble is removable, aswell as the paint being on point. I'd be fine with the SS figure just being a revamp of this one, with perhaps a new head sculpt.

I absolutely love that figure! So sad I never got and never will get a chance to get that amazing figure

I managed to get this figure for about $50 in the box a few years ago and yeah it is a really nice one. I don't care for most of the movie designs aside from the Bumblebee version but if you want an Optimus with flames this is easily the best figure to get.

@@PrimeVsPrime Yes, i was quite lucky to find a chap on eBay that just didn't like it and so I ordered it. It's one of the only figures that fits in with the Studio Series like and looks good as a representation of this particular Optimus Prime.

I removed the truck parts from mine, Toyhaxed him up and gave him the DW-M08 sword and shield. He’s like a Robot Replicas figure! 😀

I really want to see hasbro make another attempt on this figure but with less kibble and more articulation especially on the legs. it may seem impossible but I got some ideas tbh.

They might reissue this version of Optimus Prime for the studio series line but for more accurate paint job

As a hardcore TF fan, I found Last Knight to be a painful watch. =( At least the toys are good!

A slight repaint for an SS Nemesis Prime would be nice!

yes i have this guy and i must say this is as screen accurate as it can get. btw i have found a way to make him more screen accurate. so what you want to do is flip the head into the chest cavity which will reveal a screw. take out the screw and try to remove the truck roof sitting on a hinge. then go to the legs and remove the truck front parts which are on ball joints( may cause damage so youve been warned). after your done flip the head back out and there youve got an extra screen accurate TLK optimus prime

I would like to see a comparison of this figure with some Studio Series of AoE and TLK like Lockdown and Grimlock

Can you do the DOTM Leader Sentinel Prime for a DOTM throwback? If you haven’t already.

If the ss version is still this expensive, I might as well get challenger, if it’s regular voyager price I’m definitely getting it

It’s a nice repaint just would have wanted the head from this figure on the other optimus

The paint job on this is so, SO much better than the mass-retail Voyager Prime.

Don’t like the design or the movie but it’s the best version of the figure

I hope hasbro does a studio series tlk optimus prime and newer bumblebee since they can what they did with the dotm version but just did the big plate in the middle of his chest. If it doesn’t happen then I’ll probably get a baiwei optimus from tlk

I know you guys may hate my comment but the colour scheme is a little bit childish. The hollow chimneys is the common short among recent products. The robot mode and truck mode look acceptable but flipping the whole panel as chest piece is a little bit disappointing, comparing with the multi-step transformation, which you can see is much entertaining.

Aww i thought you will show the comparison between this version vs retail side by side :(

I can just get the reg release cus i have all those colours in markers like gold and silver so i can customize the reg release

This robot mode looks WAY better that the one that was the "leader class" for TLK and the previous movie, with that trailer hitch frame hanging off of his back. Why couldn't they have done something like this in the first place?

7:05 Um... There were *several* age of extinction optimus figures. Just off the top of my head there was the japanese version, which was a completely different mold, there was the first edition version, the western version, the special edition version (I can't remember exactly what they called it) and that's just leader class figures, not even mentioning the countless crap gimmick figures that they put out in that toyline.

I like this mold a lot but I hate the blue paint applications to the eyes it just makes it look ugly

Now, just why did Hasbro think it was a good idea to make the one with more movie accurate colors AN SDCC EXCLUSIVE?! I loved this mold, but the original was all I could get. It wasn't bad, but when I got it, IT DIDN'T COME WITH THE SHIELD! I'm just hoping they make a studio series from this.
