Thanks for showing that the head CAN move. I think I’ve watched every review of this thing and all of them said the head doesn’t turn much. Now I see they were just scared to turn it. Great review!

some interesting differences that i spotted are the crystals. the crystals on the original one are made or purple plastic with a chromed backing to create a nice reflection through the transparent plastic. on the new one the crystals are made from the same clear rubber as the sword with the symbol molded in and a purple printed detail on the back. for some reason it gives the illusion that there is purple paint in the lines that make up the destorn symbol but there is not. other details are that the Giganotosaurus from the new model is modelled after the very inaccurate Schleich Giganotosaurus model. You can swing the gun mode handle on the sword hilt behind the trigger so you lock that in and dont accidentally launch the sword during play on the original.

Cool comparison. Interesting the Trex is less detailed but did the plesiosaur so much more detailed than the original.

Hasbro has been turning to bendy gummy plastics for their weapons. It's a big problem in their classified line. i'm sure some corporate guy convinced them to do it because it'd save them 2 cents per figure. 0.o it's unfortunate they passed on the molded detail on the legs. because it couldn't have been too much harder to add. He isn't a T-rex but instead a Gigantosaurus. It's believed (to my understanding) that the t-rex was more of a powerhouse while the gigantosaurus relied more on speed.
