It's not Beast Wars and Dinobo here isn't the Dinobot from Beast Wars (obviously). That being said, I still liked him and I won't lie, I cried for he died to soon. One more important thing (that is crucial to who he is) he at least still had HONOR.

Dinobot was more than capable of punching above his weight... and why he was one of the few Maximals in "Beast Wars" that could have taken Megatron on in a one-on-one fight, even after Megatron became a transmetal.

I love how they show Dinobot's code of honor when he fights. Even when Megatron's back is to him, he doesnt fight dirty and waits for his opponent to face him.

I don't mind Dinobot's voice, since his character seems to be pretty cool, but BW Megs not only hears off, he also acts out of character. But I understand that you can't put two Alpha's over the same pack. It wouldn't work from plot's perspective as they would consume each other. Maximals and Autobots would only need to sit down and watch the fight.

Good catch!

Honestly, this scene was pretty good since it protected all three characters. Megatron was barely functioning and still nearly killed Dinobot at one point, one of the best Predacon warriors. At the same time, Dinobot managed to fight off and overwhelm an ambush from who was overall the strongest character in the series (not counting Galvatron or Nemesis). Then BW Megatron enters and instantly cripples an unaware Dinobot, and both he and Megatron are able to shake off their injuries anyways - this was one of the best segments from the entire series.

Yeah, he should of had something similar to his original voice.

After hearing megatron and dinobot voice's I had to go back and watch the original beast wars to hear the real voices

Okay, ignoring the voice acting for a second, does anyone else appreciate that the Maximals and Predacon’s actually USE their beast modes? It was always a pet peeve of mine in the original that the characters would almost never fight in beast form (yes there are instances, but they where rare and far between, particularly more so during the transmetal arc). Here, Dinobot completely fucks up Megatrons arm in raptor mode while swapping back to sword fighting when most opportune, while Predacon Megatron completely ravages Dinobot and then proceeds to pin him with the his Rex’s superior body mass and claws. They do it with the others too, which I love despite some of the flaws prevalent in the show.

I think it was mostly due to budget and technical limitations of the time. It's easier to animate robots blasting eachother from a distance than it is to have two beasts fighting up close. There's more physics involved and in 1995 it was hard to animate a melee fight with both CGI models trading blows. DKC at the time had almost all contact between the characters happen offscreen or hidden with a scene cut.

@@yurionedge2199 to be fair, what would Rattrap's beast form do to someone like Scorponok or Megatron? Rhinox is still a massive, super smart rhino in beast mode, Dinobot was an overgrown deinonychus, Primal was still a 300 pound gorilla. Rattrap though was merely a rodent of unusual size in beast mode.

Kingdom Beast Megatron was basically just Scorpinok. In both voice and characterization.

Netflix's Tigertron sounds like Dinobot without the snarl and Dinobot sounds more like Tigerton

After watching this, it almost hurts to see BW Megs act like that. The OG one would've saved Megatron, then killed him, and even if Dinobot got away, he'd tell everyone Dinobot did it in an act of betrayl, and now he is in command.

@@zacharyfrierson6972 Megalomania wouldn't have allowed BW Megatron to let himself be ruled over by anyone, not even his namesake if it came down to it. He has a literal God complex, he called himself Alpha and Omega when he was at the helm of the Nemesis. If he was given the choice to rule over all creation or help OG Megatron attain that position, what do you think he would have chosen. It's perfectly plausible that BW Megatron would kill OG Megatron as part of a scheme. He does respect and admire the OG Megatron but he would definitely betray him, such is his character (very much a Decepticon move, funnily enough).

BW Megatron in the 90s show wouldn't have acted in the slightest like this, he was far more dignified, ruthless, arrogant and narcissistic. This one sound, as some have said, like a freaking fanboy. Where this BW Megatron tries to help OG Megatron and is concerned for well being, the original BW Megatron would have either berated him for his poor fighting skills or smugly asked if he needed assistance 'standing up'. In my opinion, this show butchered what I considered to be the best Megatron.

@@Lu1zF3l1pe It's mentioned a few times that optimus wasn't much of a fighter in this series and Dinobot is more of a warrior so he's seen a fair share of fights. Megatron was also being drawn mad by the matrix so he wasn't at his A game as well.

Dinobot has always been a badass. Remember how he fended off every predacon single handedly in beast wars? If there was ever a predacon or maximal that could beat the odds, it’s Dinobot.

Beast wars: Dinobot defeated the predacon army and destroyed the golden disk. Kingdom: Dinobot defeated the original Megatron and recovered the Matrix.

I love the voice of Dinobot. And this was a great homage to “Code of Hero.” Seeing him kick the OG Meg’s can was awesome.

Voice acting is horrendous as always but the animation is sooo clean

Dinobot is such an Absolute Badass in this Fight and he might even Potentially be the Greatest Swordsmen in all Transformers History along side Star Saber.

He did beat all the Predacons and even transmetal Megatron back in BW by himself, dudes not magically powerful like most top dogs but maybe the most skilled out there.

It’s just not the same without the original BW voice actors. I get it, the younger VAs need some time in the spotlight but it would have been a nice nod to have the original VAs reprising their roles.

In the original beast wars Dinobot was a one-man army and took out the Predacons by himself and won only died due to exhausting his remaining energy to destroying the golden disk thwarting BW Megatron's plans. Even if Megatron is sane Dinobot has the home-field advantage along with being a trained Predacon warrior

Like BW Megatron showed, had Megatron not hesitated like he did in the beginning of the fight, Dinobot would've died, especially if Megatron wasn't weakened by The Allspark.

I must confess that I never liked Dinobot's original voice, but it's mostly because I grew up with the spanish dub and he had a radically different voice tone there, being it more deep. I still think this voice sounds too young for Dinobot, but at least it doesn't sound like he were constantly screeching 😅😅😅 Anyhow, I think we all can agree that there must be no one in the entire world that prefers this Predacon Megatron's voice over David Kaye's performance.

The fight between a gladiator like Megatron and an honor bound warrior like dinobot is one I didn't think I'd ever see but still worthwhile nonetheless. And beast wars Megatron is so pathetic like starscream more than his classic self

I think the reason why so many G1 fans are having a problem with Dinobot going toe to toe with Megatron is that they were too old to appreciate Beast Wars in the 90s. I went back and watched all of them a few years back and to be honest, it was a far better series with better characters than G1.

New Dinobot's voice sounds different but good. It fits his attitude which is more calm than in Beastwars but his skills as a fighter are equal. Without this bootlicking Megatron backstabbing him, Dinobot would've crushed Lord Megatron.

What Dinobot is trying to warn his megatron is the other megatron on the other path of becoming Galvatron

Despite everyone’s complaints I actually don’t mind BW Megs being a servant to the original Megatron. He idolized Megatron so getting a chance to meet him and serve him is beyond exciting for him. It’s essentially intense fanboying

Wow, ok let’s be honest here: I do believe that Dinobot was going to lose his fight againts Megatron, but every time I see this fight and how Dinobot had him at his mercy, I come to figure that any transformer that fights with honor, courage, bravery and determination can defeat or go to a standstill against Megatron (like Grimlock, Ultra Magnus, Jetfire, etc.), perhaps I should make a tire list of characters that can, could, should and standstill Megatron in every way (canonical, potentially and theoretical).
