Transformers G1 “Reissue” COMPUTRON Gift Set Knock-Off Review
The Transformers combiner Computron, formed from 5 Technobots, is an awesome G1 toy. Captain Kyle reviews this knock-off reissue gift set of the team to see if it’s a good substitute for the original.
The Technobots, the G1 Transformers cartoon, were created by the Dinobot leader Grimlock when he suddenly became super-intelligent. The team consists of Strafe, Nosecone, Lightspeed, Afterburner, and Scattershot, who leads. They were a welcome addition to the Autobot forces as they faced off against the Terrorcons. In the comics, they were part of the force led by Fortress Maximus and traveled to Nebulos before eventually getting to Earth. The G1 “reissue” knock-off giftset is a great way to pay homage to the original toys, and Captain Kyle examines each character for quality.
If you’d like to get this set, you can do so on:
eBay: ebay.us/boT1Az (there are options for box and no box)
Ali Express: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_A7DCkf (reissue as individual carded and boxed figures)
Please note that these are not official Hasbro products.

I need this bad boy. How beautiful you just cant beat these gift sets man. I love the look of all these guys together with that beautiful art.
This is such a stylish and fun set. The color scheme for Computron is absolutely the best of the era. Only Piranacon comes close, IMO. Speaking of which, is Scattershot slightly off? His red looks a bit unsaturated in parts. Anyway, I had all of these guys back in the day and the “attack jet” mode is completely news to me! Thanks for pointing that out! Very cool.

The Scattershot looks fine to me, but I no longer have an original G1 to compare him to. Most of my G1, G2 and some Beast Wars and Car Robots stuff... was sold. I regret it often, but I can't complain too much because it put me in a much better financial position.

i noticed that too on the fists looked a little pink but maybe that was the lighting or the camera settings?
Thanks for posting this. Great video! I wonder why Hasbro / Takara don't reissue more G1 figures. There are so many bootlegs being sold everywhere that i'm sure there would be a market for it if they re-released them now. Strange forsure.

That's what blows my mind. If KOs are that close to original, then it makes no sense why a multi-billion dollar toy company won't re-engineer the old lines. The market is obviously there
I only ever had Strafe growing up, but got Scattershot and Nosecone later on as a collector. Sold them all so this would be an awesome set to grab. Fun Fact: there is a G2 Strafe Cyberjet and they have the same tech specs, making them the same character, not just reusing the same name.
Finally got around to ordering this gift set off of Temu. Thanks Captain for the great reviews 😊

They are slow... and some of the packaging has been a little bent, but overall the stuff came in great shape.
Have you ever reviewed the KO Reflector? I recently picked one up but haven't opened it yet...

Not yet. I have one as well. I'll see if I can locate it an put it in the review pile.
It's not bad....the plastic is good. BUT, it is not perfect. If you look really closely it says "HRSBRO" on each figure. I guess they didn't have an "A" available. I had to fix a few of them as well as they were not constructed properly. These are OK if you know what you are getting into, but I can't recommend them. I'd much rather spend the time and complete the original set if I am dedicated enough.

I think there are multiple manufacturers, and some do a better job than others.
Anyone here that bought all these knock-offs that can help me with some information? Apart from Predaking I have all combiners from when I was a kid. Thankfully I have all the combiner parts and main weapons, but some of the smaller weapons are gone and some of the decals are destroyed from playing with them. Do the weapons in these sets fit the originals, or did they change the pin sizes? How close are the decals to the originals, to replace missing decals?

The decals are identical. The weapons are the same size. If there are variances, usually the new weapons will be slightly loose. A coat of clear nail polish can fix that.
you should get the G1 Terrorcons KO

Don't worry. I am shooting that review this week. Along with some other goodies.
where did you buy the stickers?

Not sure what you mean. These counterfeit gift sets usually come with all the stickers, including the factory ones unapplied and the rub signs. But if you need replacements, there are some sites out there with reproduction stickers.
