The Autobot Pretenders were so WEIRD....(looks over shoulder at Stranglehold). Like yourself I adore the Pretenders in all of their dumb glory, the biggest issue with the smaller ones was if your lose the accessories, the little bot's alt mode is null & void. Great Review as usual.

This is one of the lucky examples when the small weapon doesn't affect the small robot or vehicle which is why I pulled the trigger on him! Thanks for watching brother!

I had pretenders when I was young. They were very interesting. Except when you have siblings that get jealous over almost every thing then you end up with lose parts or even broken. Well they where still fun while I had them and always great when old toys are still getting some love. Stay cool.

I aged out of transformers before the pretenders, just after the headmasters. Didn’t even know these existed until I was closer to 30. I wish I Had a few of these but the after market pricing for them complete is to rich for my blood. Come on hasbro how bout some reissue’s.

I was like 7 when these came out, so right in that age range for TFs, and I thought the Pretenders were dumb as hell. Nostalgia and Bludgeon made me love them though. It was such a crazy idea at the time. I guess it still is really.

I would love to hear what the inspiration was for this character. Could be a combination of competing with wacky gimmicks from other toy lines like "Ghostbusters" & "T.M.N.T." and the need to hold on to a trademarked name.

Starscream is a good one!

One of the weirdest Autobot Pretenders. He stands out too much when compared to the other human Pretender Shells. Only Longtooth stands out more. The robot mode looks great but the jet mode is nothing without the backpack sadly. Other than that it looks great also. Strange how the robot mode doesn’t have two heads though. The name definitely refers to the Pretender Shell, not the inner robot.
