I think this mold works way better for onslaught than it does for hotspot.

I wish that you could have spent some time showing us the limb transformations. I am having a hard time getting my Brawl and Swindle to be the right heights.

Great video and toy I guess it became good because you reviewed and i got it last month and you said hot spot was good but not great but there the same mould just with no ladder an fire truck front for feet

If it would be 2015 rid it would be a crappy ,barely poseable combiner with limbs the size of a legends class and barely the height of a voyager

I am a huge G1 Transformers fan and I loved your video. Soon a few months down the road i will have a complete set of Bruticus, Menisor and Betatron. Plus buying more Combiner war Transformers. My favorite cartoon of ALL TIME.

Sucks that Hasbro didn't do a CW Predaking. :(

I've seen other reviewers having issues with Onslaught's knees. Glad to see it was just a mistransformation problem

Honestly I am okay with the mold re-use; in an ideal world where Hasbro had as much of a budget as needed for new molds then yeah it would just be cutting corners. Here? A lot of this seems to only work because they finally thought ahead and realized instead of every five-figure team needing a new torso and limbs, or the kind-of-lame doubling up on limbs we had in Energon, just identify the *many* characters that can be retools (or even just redecos) of the same mold.

+Kami-sama no Otaku For the most part I agree with you, with the notable exception of Blades. The upcoming Victorion has helicopters without missiles. That version of the mold would have fit a rescue helicopter much better.

I love light piping, however the paint applications are top notch in comparison to earlier lines.

I'm surprised Takara didn't make a Fire Convoy out of this mold.

Is there a way to tighten the loose left arm?Is there any other lube/polish I can use besides Future since Singapore does not sell and it's really hard to find.

I feel like Hasbro is re-molding everything. I wonder if Hasbro is still focusing on quality than money since the Jurassic World releases *shiver*.

Really this mold works alot better for onslaught at least for me

Cut the top off and paint him orange then you have quickmix while in vehicle mode.

RUINATION AWAKENS!!!

The G2 box set fixes all of the problems with the figures here. If you're into atomic colors, that is.

It seems there is some issues on standing Bruticus up. I hope they may fix them in the Japanese version, so that I may pick one.

as much as i like onslaught and the combination to bruticus, the only real let downs for me is blast off and vortex being lazy ON-POINT re-paints of alpha bravo and quickslinger. brawl is alright despite his hinge for a stomach in robot mode. and swindle looks great for another heavy mod of rook. beyond that, the combaticons are fine as is. now let me put this on the table, who wants to bet that the combaticons will be re-painted into the commandos from '01 RID. also will you be getting and reviewing sky reign

I have one flipping annoying problem with my Onslaught HIS ARM UHHHHHH. Just under his shoulder that join that let's his arm more out is so FLOPPY. So when he is holding a gun in his right hand it just flops. And the heels are useless my one just falls over so I have to get him bent over a bit to stand him.

I have no complaints on onslaught vehicle mode exercise but he should have the new molded arms so we can have the truck

There are probably some reprolables if you want the front of your onslaught to look like a truck

where was menasor in the end? or could you not fit him in the frame?

the Bruticus face reminds me of the optimus primal figure's face(the one with the mouth guard on it)

I like Brutus yeah he need some help needs work but its not bad I like all of them

QC on these molds is enough to warrant me not ever getting these.

my girlfriend got me all 5 of the combaticons got Brawl for Father's Swindle for my birthday and half to wait tail Christmas for the other 3 2 will be from my kids and one from her she got the last 3 before the store in my area pulled them off the shelves. :)

I think that's the one I'm going to get. I love the G1 boys, but the obnoxious purple camouflage of their G2 counterparts is right up my alley.

There will likely also be G2 recolors of the Protectobots and Combaticons.

+baltmatrix Mine looks just fine, there is play in the ratchet but it has enought friction to keep him straight.

Hoping the Brawl issues are just a QC issue with your figure (though it sucks it happened to yours!) because I really want to get this set.

their not quality control problems but their are fixes for thw waist and if you want to keep the mold having the front of the crotch you will have do some altering of the mold

He looks a wee bit like inferno too!!

+saber protector prime There's a glossy clear coat on Brawl that's messes with his color when next to other figures. I only noticed it myself while editing this review.

correct me if i'm wrong cause i've seen this formation done a lot but it's not how i remember bruticus so doesn't swindle go on the other side

This is a long shot but I think the only time Hasbro will start making new molds for the combiner wars line is if they create better Technobots and the non vehicle combiners such as the Predacons and Terrorcons.

That's not Onslaught's vehicle mode

I still prefer the FOC mold

With the way that piece that "covers" Bruticus' head just hangs off of the back like that, they really could've made it higher so that it covered more of the head. It's not like the piece has to fit anywhere for any other mode to do anything else. There also looks to be plenty of room on the back of Bruticus so that if it had been made higher, it would still just hang off the back just fine. It's not so bad on Onslaught but on Bludgeon, the combiner head is quite noticeable. Especially with the color differences between Bludgeon and Thunder Mayhem as opposed to Onslaught and Bruticus.

+Bradley Arellano Judging from the pictures I've seen, the retool consists of both heads being new, and some additional weaponry in the form of some swords that originally came from a Japanese only figure (an Optimus from GO! I think).

+J. José Rivera Torres I'm not sure.. We know that Prime was a retool of Motormaster but Prime was release first. And Alpha Bravo is a straight repaint of Vortex (but again the Autobot was release first).

***** I always find it interesting when we do find out. Like when the designer of Generations Sandstorm said in a podcast, I can't remember which, that he created that design first and Hasbro then created Generations Springer from it. We always assumed that it was the other way around.

+Meta Matoro The Takara FOC Bruticus fixed the paint issues as it had better paint apps then the SDCC one without costing ridiculous amounts of money. Also with soem fiddling the combined mode actually looks pretty nice and each of the Combaticons except for onslaught look amazing by themselves. I am glad that Hasbro realized that the Torso figure of the combiner does need to be bigger than a deluxe size though.
