I remember sitting in the theatre waiting for Superman Returns to start, and thinking this trailer looked interesting...then it said TRANSFORMERS, and nearly every guy in the theatre yelled simultaneously with joy. I don't remember anything about the Superman movie.

Yeah, when I saw that, logo that said Transformers and saw the Autobot insignia, I involuntarily yelled "HOLY SHIT IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!" There was talk about the live action movie for years. According to my friend the project changed hands and died a few times. Then it was finally released and it turned out it actually wasn't what the Gen X'rs grew up with.

Dude! That is what happened in my theater. I don't remember what movies we went to see but when this trailer came on pretty much everybody in there screamed, except my friend. He was raised in Europe and never watched the Transformers cartoon or ever heard of them to be honest. I think we all talked about it during the next trailer we were so excited. While I love all the Transformers movies this one holds a special place in my heart because I got to see my childhood brought to live action and it was Awesome!

This movie hit me like Star Wars hit kids in the 70s. Nobody had ever seen anything like this before and you couldn’t go ANYWHERE in 2007/08 without seeing Optimus prime or bumblebee plastered on something. Probably the biggest movie of the decade imo

People who love to hate on the Bayverse often forget how BIG the 2007 film was. You need to remember that the fantasy movie craze of the early-mid 2000s had came to a close with Lord of the Rings wrapping up its trilogy in 2003, Revenge of the Sith being the last Star Wars movie in 2005 and Pirates of the Caribbean doing its sequels back-to-back. And also remember that the Comic Book Movie boom was yet to culminate in Iron Man the year after despite being a big deal. The world needed a new phenomenon, a new crowd-pleasing escapist romp, and when they saw this teaser trailer, Transformers became that new phenomenon (even if it disappointed a vocal contingent of fans).

Every generation has that once in a lifetime movie that defines their youth: For baby boomers, it was Star Wars, For Gen Z, it was the Avengers, And for Milennials, it definitely had to be this one.

Fun fact: Acording the comic book mini series "Transformers Movie Prequel" which as the title suggests was a prequel to the first Transformers movie, the Transformer that destroyed the Mars Rover in this trailer was actually Starscream, and Blackout and Barricade were with him, and that's what sent the decepticons to earth to find the all spark and Megatron.

The Fallen was nightmare fuel. Dark of the Moon made things darker with Sentinel’s betrayal on the Autobots, that lead to 1000’s of innocent deaths. Age of Extinction killed off some of our favorite Autobots from the first 3 films, along with the death of a secondary character who cyberform at the end of the movie’s first half. The Last Knight give us the dark ages, & Optimus becoming Nemesis Prime. Unicron on the other hand is the source of all horror & nightmares.

Can't believe the first live action transformers movie will be 10 years old this year.

@@markus_blend16 Originally, much like Chicken Little (a Disney film) teaser that parodies The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy teaser, DreamWorks Animation wanted to have two teaser trailers for its own then-upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens film in the summer of 2008, one going to attached to the showing of Kung Fu Panda (another DreamWorks film), which Insectosaurus attacks New York City in a parody of Cloverfield, and another teaser was going to attached to Wall-E (a Disney/Pixar film), in which a Wall-E-like robot character gets crushed by a shadow of an alien robot at Mars in a parody of this teaser of Transformers (another DreamWorks film).

I remember when i first saw this teaser trailer in the Mission Impossible 3 movie. I had no idea what Transformers was, then my dad saw the trailer then he says, "Oh, Transformers." He remembered watching it back in the day. Then he told me about the two teams, the Autobots and Decepticons and the two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron. I just said, "Cool." I wasn't really interested that much yet, so I put it in the back if my mind. Then one day, I went to Toys R Us and once I walked in, there was a big banner for the Transformers toys ib front of me stocked with shelves of Transformers figures. I immediately rushed in to look at the toys as I was a curious child and I wanted to see if there was a new toy I could get and I have never got a Transformer. After a few seconds, I immediately wanted one as they were amazing and I have never seen toys like that before. Robots who can transform into cars, trucks, and other forms. That's awesome. As I was looking at the toys, one particular figure caught my eye and it was Optimus Prime. I immediately fell in love with him. I did not know much about him other than the fact that he is the leader of the good Transformers, the Autobots. I immediately wanted him since he looked so cool with his looks as a robot and his truck mode and his color scheme. I always had a thing of getting figures of the main protaganists. My parents said no at the time, but when we went to Target one day, my dad bought me the Optimus Prime voyager class Robovision, exclusive only at Target. I had so much fun playing with him and transforming him, that I couldn't put him down. When I watched the movie in theatres, I immediately loved the franchise as a whole. I loved the fight scenes, the explosions, but most importantly the Transformers. I learned about the other Autobots and loved then immediately. What I really loved this about this movie was that it made me really love Optimus Prime and his team of Autobots. Optimus was such an amazing and good character that it made me love my figure of him even more, my first Transformers figure, and still to this day my favorite Transformer of all time. Due to this movie and Optimus Prime, I have become a Transformers fan. I have watched all of the sequels after this, even though there were some that I did not really enjoy too much, but loved nonetheless, along with some of the tv shows like Transformers Animated, Transformers Cybertron, and my personal favorite Transformers Prime, played the video games based on the movie, and I collected multiple figures of other Transformers. Say what you want about this movie and this franchise, but I love Michael Bay's Transformers film series since it introduced me to Transformers, it made me into a Transformers fan, and introduced me to Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots who is still my favorite Transformer.

The atmosphere, chill, hype, and mystery all in one teaser. We all knew something new and big was coming towards us back in 2007.

A lot of people would never guessed this was a transformers movie when seeing the beginning of this in previews in the theaters

Even though revenge of the fallen was a bad movie the tesser trailer was awsome aswell as Dark of the moon well being my all time favorite out of the whole quinlogy the trailer for that movie was meh until the end were alpha Trion ahmm I mean sentinel prime was yellow and it showed the inside of his eye and then the title read TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON, 7/1/11. but we ended up getting in a mouth before 6/29/11 instead.

I remember going in to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and the previews started coming on and this was one of the previews attached to it. And everyone went apeshit status when the title showed up, then when I went to see Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End the final trailed played in the previews until finally I saw the movie on the big screen and it was one of the best cinema experiences of my entire life.

THIS teaser was the biggest thing to ever happen to me as a kid. I lost my MIIIIIIIIND when I saw it I just couldn't believe it. Why can't movies be done like this again, such a perfect live action movie.

This trailer came up when I went to see Prirates Of The Caribbean Dead Mans Chest on July 2006 on school trip

Say whatever you want about the movies themselves. This trailer is straight-up one of the best out there.

This teaser was released on June 29, 2006, that was my 6th birthday. I remember watching this movie back in the old days when you were too poor to go to the movies but not too poor to watch a cheap recording off a camcorder.

When I first saw this, I remember realizing instantly, that this will be Transformers (at the moment that big robot-formed shadow appeared). It was a gut feeling. :)

OMG I saw this in the theatre when I went to watch Superman returns. I remember how excited I was to see this for the first time!! But at the same time I remember thinking how will It work? I was just so confused. But I love it!

I remember watching this at school with some freinds in computer class. My mind was racing with the ways of how they were gonna make a live-action transformers movie. I was in completely aww of it all. Many years later and I'm still in amazement on how they pulled it off.

When I was 8 this trailer came out. I remember everyday after school I would check for Transformers news stuff & back at that time I was getting bored as there was nothing new coming out, until I saw this trailer. I prayed that this was a full movie that was real & here I am 10 years down waiting for Transformers: The Last Knight with that same excitement. Thank you for the re-upload in 1080p it really means a lot as a huge fan.

I remember seeing an interview with the Japanese designers who created the original toys. They were absolutely floored that their toys became so big a Hollywood movie with Stephen Spielberg attached to it was being made about them. Could you imagine I Hasbro and Takara never teamed up, if Diaclone never became Transformers

When I saw this teaser first time, I knew Bayformers was going to be absolutely *nothing* like cartoons of G1-Unicron Trilogy era, on both good ways and bad ways. First I didn´t like the focus on humans and the robot designs, either; but when I figured out that, according to interviews on Bayformers 1 Special edition DVD, the movie makers *tried* to make it more mature and realistic compared to the cartoons, I was able to forgive them of those flaws. And when I finally saw TF1 on threatre at age of 15, I was stunned by the magic of Transformers hiding in perfect, real-life disguise and blowing places up during ass-kicking action! Those real-like vehicle modes, those reactions of politics and military on robot action, that "omg, my car is a robot", that epic music, that brutality, that atmosphere darker compared to cartoons I watched as kid, those battles; these are why Bayformers is and will be my favorite Transformers continuity universe #1, I´m not kidding! Too bad it was cancelled after low ratings of The Last Knight. Sorry G1 fans, not all TF fans grew up in 1980´s (my childhood was Unicron Trilogy). Thank you for re-upload such nostalgia blast!

Take me back to Summer '07

I was 9 years old when this trailer dropped for the first time on the internet, I was excited beyond belief, I was going to see a Transformers movie on the big screen in live action like the Spider-Man movies, when Peter Cullen was cast as Optimus, I freaked out and my hype was at full speed, though I didn't grew up with G1 mostly (I thought Bumblebee was Hot Shot) so I didn't know who else was in the movie but Optimus Prime and Megatron. Every trailer increased my hype until I saw it July 27th 2007 on it's UK opening day, someone's phone even went off with the G1 theme song as their ringtone and everyone in the audience laughed When the film finished, I was like on a sugar rush because of the climax being that epic, now that I'm older, I noticed the flaws more but still can enjoy the movie for what it was, a decent popcorn action movie, shame I can't say the same for 2 or 3 4 is where I think the series picked up for me at least

Same I was that very age, tho I was sceptical even at 9 because the trailer after this made it look like it was just gonna be a bunch of gray Decepticons attacking earth and the military were going to be the heroes but then the merch started coming out and those shiny colorful Autobots were all over everything and I was set for life at that point😭

I love these kinds of teaser trailers were you have no idea what kind of movie this is until the very end. We need more of these kinds of teaser trailers of movies based on preexisting franchises.

I remember when I was at the cinema and my face dropped with excitement. The movie I went to see did not do anything for me apart from this teaser trailer and I knew it was going to be awesome due to the events of Earth, Moon and NASA. Seriously that sound of movement, etc gets you hyped on what is yet to come!

This, Godzilla, and Man of Steel has the Best teaser ever made, almost feels like a different movie.

Keep your chin up friend, the Bumblebee movie has delivered where the old films failed and has completely rebooted the movie franchise. Bay is gone and fans now have control. There's talk of a fully animated film set on Cybertron, and another movie about Optimus Prime. We're in a new golden age of Transformers movies

Saw this teaser in front of Dead Man’s Chest. I was 9 years old having no idea what this was. I’d watched a bit of TF beforehand but wasn’t into it fully. And when this played, me and the rest of the audience lost our minds. What a teaser!!!!

They simply don't do teaser trailers like this anymore.

When I saw this trailer back in theaters, I thought it was some sort of Scary Found Footage Film About Mars That My Have Aliens In It. But when the title should up, I didn't not expect that this was a Transformers Film. This is a legitimately good Teaser Trailer.

Still gives me goosebumps watching 10 years later. But it is my first time though.

I remember back in 06 I was watching the 86 movie on here 10 minutes at a time and somehow this got put into the feed and being a kid born in 87 transformers was my childhood

I remembered when I was in movie theatre, and saw this teaser I was like omg! so excited!

I remember being 7 when this movie hit theaters, I really had to pee but I loved the movie so much I decided to hold it in but I ended up pissing all over myself by the third act.

Am I the only one who finds this trailer kinda scary as hell, seriously this feels like a trailer for a horror movie, the found footage movie style it has, the text giving very cryptic messages about how the world wasn't meant to see this footage, the fact that you can tell the rover is gonna see something, no music , the Mars rover getting trashed by something you can only see for a few seconds and it's really only a sillouette, the fact that you never really get a good look at the thing. I can only imagine how the first person to see this footage must have reacted, maybe they were sitting at a computer in a dark room with nobody else there, I kinda feel bad for them 😂 Also I keep seeing people arguing in the comments about who that actually was, bumblebee , Megatron, starscream, blackout, tbh as a kid I always kinda thought it was bumblebee , god knows why but here's my idea, it's not any character that appears in the movie, afterall the characters in the movie are not the only cybertronians in the universe, I like to think this character was an unidentified cybertronian that landed on mars after escaping cybertron

I remember seeing this in a theater lobby as my family took me to see happy feet, I think. I remember being really scared, but trying to play it off like "oh great another alien invasion movie," but then I saw Transformers and immediately all I could think about was things like "I hope Sideways will be in it!" Or "I wonder if Jetfire will make an appearance." Then the next summer, I saw it, and halfway through the screening, the projector broke!

Remember watching the teaser trailer back in 06. Following year went to college & got to see the G1 transformers duke it out :)

Man i use to remember this teaser when i was in cinema watching xmen the last stand back in 2006 dont ask why but man this still give me chills man those where the good old day when touch screen phone and the internet were not there at the time and kids shows were still good oh those were the days god i feel so old

In response for the description, I was playing OOT on my N64 in anticipation for the Nintendo Wii and Twilight Princess.. I then watched a bit of Tv to see this trailer. I then became so excited for the live action series of one of my favourite comic book series and Tv show. :)

I was trying to find where to watch this preview because I was 25 in the summer of '06 and grew up watching the OG Transformers cartoon. Kids who grew up in the 2000s probably don't realize how special this was and still is. Us 80s kids dreamed of a live action Transformers. Even when the animated movie came out in 1986 it was cool...but we wanted one that made it "real." But in the 80s there was literally no way to do it justice ..or maybe even at all. I remember seeing Jurassic Park the first time in 1993. One of the first things I thought of was "can they actually do Transformers now for real?" This series isn't perfect. But I still love Transformers 2007, Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction (just doing Bay films atm). Because it was seeing something that we were old enough to remember when it was impossible. I saw a three hour movie that culminated in seeing freakin Grimlock in live action (I know it's not technically live action). I don't care if he was only in the movie for 15 minutes and his robot form was kinda ehhh and he didn't talk. It was good enough for the five year old me that assumed such a thing could never happen. And hearing that perfect Optimus Prime voice in these movies was magical. I honestly don't know if I'd have been as enthusiastic if they changed that. Change any other voice and I can live with it. But it was imperative that Optimus had that voice unless Peter Cullen had not been alive to do it. For once, the powers that be in Hollywood made the right decision..
