There are many beautiful chateaus, but yours is surrounded by the most beautiful property and, it seems, not near to any noisy highways. I love that you give so much time to your beautiful grounds and gardens. They truly are just as important to the beauty of your property as the chateau itself.

I really like the bracelet ! My son used to bring me various nature made finds, when he was little, we would stick them all in this cool & huge twig wreath. It was really unique and displayed all his finds. He's 33 now and still an outdoor guy. Created a hiking group that is growing and growing, they go every Sunday, all over our area. Sincerely in San Diego California

You are so fortunate to have a walled garden to keep the deer out. Petunias would be eaten immediately in my garden. The herd of mule deer ate my little lilac bush and my geraniums that I thought they did not like. Your garden is beautiful! How cool that you can use trees from your property to rebuild the floor of the cottage! Your blogs are always a treat!

Ah, so glad to see lavender! We planted a 'hedge' of 14 culinary plants, alternating a darker and lighter variety, and it gives such a huge harvest - more than we can ever shortbread or London Fog our way through in a year. There is nothing more relaxing, pleasant and anxiety-calming (yeah, me too) than spending a few hours pulling buds off and having that scent all around and on my hands. (While eating lavender shortbreads and sipping on a London Fog, of course.) Those plants and the fig tree may make that the most scrumptious bed in your garden.

With the additional beds in the garden, the space is so much better defined. I just love it. That fig with the box wood? The petunias and allysm was so well planted and made great companions with each other. Can't wait for a couple of months to see it again! Please do a retake of the garden in a couple of months. It is always a real treat. Love the content you have, the humor, and the editing.

Hello from Texas, I'm so blown away that plant prices are so affordable compared to here. That fig tree would be around $80.00 easily. And your lavender is around $25- $30. Great Job on everything! Of course it helps to have an agreeable husband.

You will LOVE the black lace elderberry. I grow it here in Virginia zone 7b and it is a ridiculously easy plant. You can prune it into any shape you want each season but save some of the cuttings because it roots almost as easily as willow. I just plunk a few in the ground and see what happens! The flowers appear pink at first but will grow and spread into large plate-shaped clusters of mostly white flowers. Really hardy and versatile. Loved this episode! Didn’t want it to end!

You always have such wonderful choices in music. I loved the visual effects where they're digging the lines and the sped-up video makes them look like they're sliding sideways. I've never seen that, a very fun effect. That's an amazing nursery, and what prices you showed were great. I like having the green fig trees because I've found that birds are less likely to eat them as they tend to wait for them to turn colour and then eat every one. Plus, green figs are delicious. You've done a LOT on your garden just recently, too!

Hello from west central Indiana!! I have recently discovered your channel and am totally addicted. I'm pretty sure I watched every episode in less than 2 weeks so I'm all caught up. The work you have completed on the chateau is amazing especially since its basically just the two of you doing the work. My husband and I renovated a 3 bedroom cottage that was built around 1875 with very little outside help in the early 1990's so I know how hard you both are working. Your kitties are precious (especially Pickel) and the pups are so sweet, but the donkeys - I'm in love!! The walled garden is looking spectacular with the new beds and the centerpiece Fig tree. I can't wait to see how the cottage turns out!

Remember that a wonderful and productive as veggie gardens are they need an incredible amount of constant attention. Don’t set up too many beds if you cannot commit to them. Planing fruit trees also need time and attention - they are too are a lot of work. I am not dying to put you off doing a wonderful activity. As gorgeous and fruitful as a fig tree is: you will have to manage what to do with the fruit - unless you let the birds eat them which they will regardless of how hard you try to cover them. I love to garden too and they are an incredible amount of work which I like. Do a little everyday to keep on top of it as you have created a lot of beds. Don’t add anymore beds unless you can manage them. Just my sage advice. Fig trees also have a massive root system. Careful that you can plant vegetables close by. Good luck and I will be watching to see how you go. The cottage is coming along great. You are going to creating a gorgeous building. Enjoy the good weather coming your way. I will hibernate in the Melbourne winter and watch you getting on with it! Enjoy Vicki

The fig (and everything else at the chateau) is beautiful! Suggestion, if you've never watch Bunny Guinness, you might consider her baseless pots for your tree. It will give you immediate added height to your trees and apparently the trees can live for years in the pots! I'll echo a previous comment. I love that we never know what you two will do next! LOVE your channel and cheering you on! ❤

The garden is looking great! Sometimes it's good when we have to wait for something. Then we have time to get other things done. I never knew that about fig trees. Interesting.

I just love your video as usual. The shopping, the sound of the rain, the planting and your voice are so relaxing and the professional editing makes my day. I look forward to each post. Have a blessed week.❤

Maybe get the purple elders to thread between your existing white❤? That ancient fig looks amazing! I think it would look great if you line the one wall with apple, another with pear & then peach all Esplanade trees🎉! Maybe how you have the looong run bed put a matching bed on the other side, or behind, depends where you stand & fill that with lavender & tall cutting flowers❤? I noticed that Guava & Enzo are happy with the weather, no matter the weather😂! Snow? Roll! Sun? Run! Rain? Sit in it!😂❤😂❤😂❤

The garden looks amazing even at the stage. As I look out the window at my house to a freak snow storm your gardens look much more inviting.

I remember ages ago when Lincoln drew the design on paper and thought it looked wonderful. Can’t wait to see it done.

We have just moved into a new house and the garden is almost a blank canvas and I am feeling so overwhelmed. I'm hoping to get some great tips from you both. Your walled garden is looking fantastic.

Your walled garden is beautiful. When you create a raised bed you could save yourself some work by just laying cardboard over the grass then building up a good deep layer of soil and compost and planting into that. The cardboard will breakdown as will any grass or weeds. Anyway, the garden is going to be amazing. Also just wondered if your cats ever venture out into the garden?
