Thank you for all of the time and the passion for plants you share with us. We live on the opposite coast from you and have gotten such great information for our garden. Especially the nursery tours and the wonderful information on the lovely scented gardenias with your sister. We live on the opposite coast from you in Southwest Florida. After 12 years at our house I rented a tiller and cut in a full front of the house garden bed. We have native firebush in there blue my mind, gardenias, vining mandevilla, gold mounds, and a bottle palm. Thanks again!

Thank you for making these videos. I was looking a list of the plants shown so I could research more about them online. I live in central Florida and was born in South Florida so I think there are a lot of these plants that I have forgotten about and I would like to have them in my current landscape so any more information you have would be appreciated. Thank you again.

You are most welcome. I currently am working on a large overarching plant list, but vid production is swallowing up my time. I will get to it shortly, in the mean time, you are welcome to check out our other vids on plants for Florida gardens, we have created quite a few. Cheers!😀🪴

Thank you for this video. Great that you named all the plants. Unfortunately I cannot do that in my garden since I don't have a clean slate to work with and I would not want to remove any cabbage palms or slash pines. A lot of cabbage palms are probably 50 to 65 years old judging by their height. I heard that they are slow growers. On the upside, since they are native, they take care of themselves which is good since I will be absent for months. Would a Licuala grandis and a lobster claw survive in zone 10A? What about a sealing wax palm? I heard there is a more cold hardy hybrid of it.

Hi! Georg! Sabals are great and super tough native palms. They also relocate easily if you need to with your new home site. On red sealing wax they are not a fan of super cold weather. I do not know of hybrid, but a similar-ish palm is the Areca vestiaria and is a little bit more cold hardy. Both are expensive. 😀🪴

Thank you. What about the cold hardiness of the lobster claw and Licuala palm? What was the plant with the yellow flowers at the end of the video?@@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN

I need to get prettier plants in my pots. Something the iguanas don’t eat.

Hi there, yes iguanas are a real headache. You can try variegated clusia, croton, ground orchids, jatropha and one of my favs--gardenias! Hope this helps😀🪴

Hi George that is the beautiful Mexican sunflower ( its in the daisy family) , but you need to be careful with this plant and some of the varieties/hybrids. Several have similar names and some can spread into other areas, so make sure you buy Tithonia rotundifoilia, if you choose one for your garden. Hope this helps 😀🪴
