Wow - that was quite a ride! So many times I would be thinking - 'no - it's perfect as it is - don't add that there!' but then as you continued to work in the paints I was just blown away at how it all came together so beautifully! Inspirational!

The process of doing this is far more important than the outcome. And it seems fun to do. And its great today that anyone can do this sort of art. You dont need to draw well or learn perspective so its great that anybody can do this.

Thank you I was stuck on a textural painting but no more. You are so brave. Also agree the painting is about layering. All the colours come through even if cannot see them..layering and patience is key for my learning. I am enjoying the process. Thank you for sharing. .

Did i learn anything? I so did. You have learned all these wonderful techniques and it seems like you just let your higher self flow. I've only been painting a few months after being a professional gemstone artist for 20 years Fluid media is exactly the opposite. Gem minerals are the slowest medium on the planet. It's such a joy seeing you work and how you flow about. I've watched a lot of pouring videos and have taught myself about density and opacity and viscosity.. etc. Somewhat. But I've got almostt everything yet to learn! And I'm so happy about this! Thank you over and under for helping me see other really incredible ways to approach painting. I'm sure I'll watch and comment on everything you've done and will do. Peace!

That was quite a process! If I had not seen the end product as the intro photo to the video I would never have imagined that it would have ended up looking like this. Like you, there were many times when I thought it looked really good, but like you I also enjoy the process and can get carried away experimenting. I don't think it's a bad thing to experiment, because we never know where we will end up. This turned out to have great depth and be beautiful! The texture is so lovely!

@@paulrollinson1305 you start with an idea, but other ideas will come along during the process. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I decided to take that risk to see where it goes. You win some, you lose some and that’s okay🙂

My newest obsession is dry pigments as well. Mica is easiest to work with, but something about the opacity of mineral pigments has captured my imagination now. I’m so happy I found your channel, and this video in particular because I’ve been stuck on one with crackle texture- not knowing if I should keep going or if it’s finished. But, you have reminded me to not get too attached to any one aspect of the painting. It’s the struggle that defines my practice: whether I should keep going, or to use restraint. Thank you for sharing your process!

Beautiful! Loved it when it was just green/blue but the end result is wonderful.

1. I put a blank canvas on the floor against the wall . 2. I put an index card with it listing tools to find / aquire / buy /try .... 3. Made a note to collect small containers for mixing up favorite colours 4 . Accepting that the aforementioned will grow ...just like plant .
