I love the craftsmanship that shows in every foot of this conversion. By far the best school bus conversion I have ever seen. That bus had a ton of rust and rot.Keep up the great shows.

Holy smokes that is a solid war wound! Great idea about the propane cabinet. We have been toying with the idea to have mounted underbody cylinder, but want the ability to take a tank into a store if there is not a spot for drive-up fill. What a great solution to have them on a slide-out!

Share the love, pass it forward, give it away so it'll get bigger and fill the world up. That said, I want to tell you that although some of us older folks who have used rivet's in the past and know their value, there is also a lost gen that has no clue and they need a learned man to show them the way, and explain why and how.

Transcend Existence i bow to you! You are by far the best reason that anyone should do this and live in a bus. My wife and i are planning to do this and watching your videos is very motivational. we want to live off the grid and earn our living doing mobile mechanic work for myself and mobile massage therapy for my wife. I have watched quite a few of your videos what I do have a question cuz I don't remember you explaining why you got the particular bus that you have .....is that one the best one for making a conversion bus because of the motor and trans and overall durability of the bus? what kind of bus has the best access to the motor in case something has to be worked on I haven't been able to take a close look at any buses but I would have thought that the ones with the protruding front would be ideal but I guess having half the motor inside the bus has its pluses to. but I just wanted to say that I really enjoy watching you work on the bus because you are very detailed about everything that you have done. once I decide which bus that I'm going to get I would definitely like to be in touch with you for advice while building mine. chances are I will probably get the same bus you got cuz I like the configuration and the size especially the back door access because I seen a layout on other buses where the master bedroom is back there with the wall separating that area and it would make a excellent little workshop/ storage/ garage.

New Skin - Ouch. Nice to see your progress. Its the video processing that takes the time doesn't it... As the warmer weather arrives, you just want to crack-on. Note that your shirt appears to have the same burn holes that mine do. We know we should wear the 'correct' gear. But we don't, do we. Same with hard-hats and other PSE. Its the intensity of our desire to build/create. After all; we'll heal. 😜

Its the Roll Your Own bus. Got front cap/transition cover done. Stitch welded it and shaped similar to yours. Not as awesome, but it came out clean and solid. Thanks for all the inspiration, man.

Transcend Existence It happens I need to take my own advice. 4 days ago I was helping my husband moving steel fence panels for him to erect at our front yard. Yeah I lost grip and dropped it on my big toe. Gosh I was turning blue it hurt so much haha. I just had xrays and thankfully no fracture. My husband Daniel felt awful but I was not wearing my steel cap boots. I learned a tough lesson on safety haha.

Over the years I've found that every project or fix involving a vehicle needs a blood sacrifice. Mostly its my hands that get cut but on my bus its been my head. I can't wait to see what you come up with to raise the panels. I've been pondering on that for months. If you want to bounce ideas around shoot me a message

Wish I had a fraction of the skills you have. Watched all your vids, couldn't stop! I like the way you think way outside the bus and you do a lot on your own... like me :D Would you do any of the work you've completed, or are going to do, for somebody else if they paid you? Namely raising a bus? Also, if one purchased a bus while living in a car where would you recommend they park it? that's the only thing really keeping me from buying a bus... other than being afraid of buying a rust bucket! Thanks for sharing your work and keep it up!

so i finally got my girlfriend to watch this build with me and she loves it. we have a small debate going between the two of us about how much you would value this bus at and how much you would insure it for if said price was different than how much you value it as. anyways loving it keep on keeping on.

I am in the process of starting my own skoolie project, I don't have the body-work experience or mad fabrication skills you do, but I'm confident I can handle most of what I need to. Should I be terrified of doing a roof raise?

  • @TranscendExistence1111

    @TranscendExistence1111

    7 жыл бұрын

Awesome...thanks for watching. The roof raise really isn't that difficult. Just make sure to use some very good judgement on how you actually lift it. Once the cuts are made, there's no going back and it can become unstable and fall on top of you. Overall though....it's a pretty straight forward process, and with some good'ol fashioned common sense, it's very achievable for most people. Granted....you need to have some skills, but the tools are fairly common.

Thank you....the main problem is I have no hair on my head to warn me before I hit it on something. By the time I've realized I've whacked my head....it's too late! lol

I recall you did the entire bus insulation with spry foam , any Idea what it cost you and how long it took to get it done, would Styrofoam do the job as well?

The cost seems to vary on location.....you can call a contractor that does it and get a quote. Styrofoam would be a really bad choice....it is open celled and will retain moisture causing many many problems in the long run. Spray foam is close celled and actually create a moisture and air barrier.

very good point. I life in Costa Rica and this kind of foam is not available here, so I wonder if I buy in the USA how much would I need for a Bus like yours and what does it cost approximately

Wow....Costa Rica is on my bucket list of destinations I want to visit for an extended period of time!! It seems so beautiful there. Do you have a room for me!?! In the US, the price varies anywhere between $2500.00 to about $8000.00 just for the purchase price of bus. The foam is on average about $1800.00 or so for a bus my size.

hahaha yes it is a nice country and it seems to be beautifull, ohh I mean it is, I life here 23 years and if I get the bus (ever) i will move out of my house I rent at this time, but if you come (you come with the bus?) and I am still in the house I have a room to spare..since I am on my own ( wife passed away) I have the feeling I need to go and do some traveling, no, not from hotel to hotel..I have doen this, like to be as independent as possible..I also plan to stay 6 month out of the year in Costa Rica, because I like to keep my status..and the weather is unbeatable, this one thing one never like to miss...trust me..lol

So sorry to hear about your wife. I would love to drive the bus down there and stay for a while. It would be great to meet up and have a place to stay. Thank you so much for your generosity! It might not be for a couple years or so though, I already have a few plans in the works once I get the bus finished. Yes....traveling is awesome, so much to see out there in the world and nature is very healing.

I know the video is two years old but what do you call that aircraft plug thing to hold your panel via drilled holes? Could you provide me the link?
