I was sent a box of gear when i first started out being interested in bushcraft. A fella from BCUSA had me call him and let me talk to my mom ( Wonder what they talked about lol) and I received a big box of gear and I still have a lot of the gear. The Trangia stove is still a fantastic piece of kit and so simple. I always use DEET antifreeze with mine.

Also you can place a pot directly on top i believe, you just have to let the stove heat up a bit so that there is a constant pull from the fuel being burned by the little holes. I may be wrong but I dont remember ever using anything with it. Maybe im getting old lol

Update: When I put a metal cup of water directly on the stove, it put the flame out, every time.
