trangia 27 series review / billy can / my personal add-ons.
A CHANGE WITH THE GEAR. I have a "pan stand" to put my mug on, pictures on my Instagram. trangia 27 series, my personal add ons, 3 different billy pots, one of which is the tatonka kettle 2.5 litre and just to show that this little cooker is really a good bit of kit considering it was made in the 1950s. it's still selling and still going which says something.

I find it easier to put the strap through the base slots prior to putting the complete kit together.
Had mine 40 years. Only renewed the seal this year. Where you’re passing the strap through I gently opened it a little with a screw driver. Sorted 👍
Had a 25-2 UL and 27-2 UL set since 2010. Added bag, multidisc, non-stick frypan and a 500ml fuel bottle to each set. Cooked hundreds of meals on each system and they have never failed me. Recently updated both sets to 27-2 HA and 25-2 HA and passed my old sets down to two of my now adult sons. These old sets both look almost new, attesting to their quality. The 27 with spirit burner is my go to kit for overnighters, weekenders and multi day expeditions. Don’t waste your time and money on a pretender. Get a Trangia Stormcooker system.
Just got one for winter trips and I fell completely in love with it. Best cook system I’ve ever had.
I just bought a Trangia 27 stove. Thank you for this overview. Very helpful.
Excellent presentation, sharing all your gained knowledge without any waffle . . . thats a rare treat on KZread amongst the bushcrafty outdoor community, who seem to think they're film producers as well.
I have the 27 and the Trangia billy pot, everything fits inside nicely, I added the 25 fry pan and a couple of aluminum plates at the bottom, got the bigger strap from Trangia thread through the top and sides of the pot and bingo, all stacked neatly and simple. I also have the mini in my car at all times for short spontaneous hikes with coffee or a simple lunch. Love it. Thanks for the video.
Very very good review! A big THANK to you, sir!
I love thé mug bit. That is brilliant.
Iv had mine for 6 years and I'm still on the original rubber washer in the top of the burner. for anyone interested they really are brilliant.
Awesome video, very helpful and informative
Great idea about the titanium plate. Going to have to get one for my kit.
Enjoyed your video. Like what you did with the add-ons. Personally I find that the Trangia is the best cooker I have that I RARELY use. Maybe it's the bulk, I will take it on a car trip but not to the woods. I should give it more love.
Nice one, I also have the Trangia 27 (which is itching to get back out there!), but it's really interesting to see other peoples opinions, uses and experiences. Thank you and best wishes 🙂...
Nice video. For your strap problem give it a bend and then carefully heat the bend with a flame. The heat will cause the bend to become somewhat permanent. Cheers!
Hello my name is Brent and i live in Utah. I have the same 27 3 UL HA stove kit that you have. I noticed you drilled into you Non-Stick Trangia Fry Pan and use it as a stove lid . I would worry the Non - Stick coating would chip and end up in your meal. There is a company called Liberty Mountain who has lots of Trangia stoves and fry pans, that can be used as lids. They are the Official Trangia Dealer. I sure enjoyed your video. Love your setup.
Awesome review, thank you
Thanks for s detailed explanation! 👍
Great review.
I put the strap through the holes first then put the windscreen and pots in. It’s easier for me than trying to thread it through when they are all assembled. The non stick pan is great. I wish I had gotten the plain aluminum pots. They are sooted up from trying isopropyl alcohol at first not knowing better. The kettle is aluminum and easily cleaned. The bottom of the anodized pots won’t clean up. Not a big deal but they are so slick nothing gets it off. Made coffee at 24 degrees F this morning. Nice video.
