Trampas Lakes Backpacking Trip, Pecos Wilderness, Carson National Forest

Trampas Lakes are said to be two of the prettiest lakes in New Mexico. Join me on my overnight backpack to the Trampas Lakes in the Pecos Wilderness of the Carson National Forest.
This trip was pleauged with comprimise before it even got started. But the changing aspens, mountain streams, and beautiful alpine lakes made it worth the effort.

    born and raised in NM and did this trail today for the first time. It was breath taking. Hiked to the lake and back to car and drove back 16 miles total. 8 miles each way. A day I remember and cherish for a long time

    Fun video. It was presented in an interesting fashion. I liked the way that you "interviewed" yourself in a way, and presented the actual footage more as B roll. It reminds me that there are other ways to present content other than simple chronological format. Thanks for sharing!

    @@MyLifeOutdoors for sure! I lived for two years in Montezuma, NM. I was lucky enough to have long trips in the wilderness, up to two weeks. I explored the Pecos, the Carson National Forest, Hermit's and Wheeler Peak. Outside of the state I had the chance to hike inside the Grand Canyon and in the Coyote Gulch area in Utah. I will never forget the beautiful landscapes in NM and the warm feeling.

    Amazing Video. Truly great. Just amazed by the color and the lighting. I'm headed out there next month to do the Jack's Creek TH around to Pecos Trail and back. Any recommendations? Can't stop the rain, but how cold did it get at night? Looking to get at least one summit. Is North Truchas doable with mountaineering?

    If I did this I would be concerned about bears. The tent doesn't offer any protection. How do you know you won't be ambushed or something?

  • @MyLifeOutdoors

    @MyLifeOutdoors

    3 жыл бұрын

    The likelihood of being ambushed by a bear is extremely low. Every time I go out I take precautions like not bringing any food into my tent, hanging my food 200 feet from my tent and more. In over 10 years of backpacking Iv only ever seen bears from a distance. It is much safer than it may seem.

    Unforgivable to ruin the serenity of an alpine lake with shitty royalty free music.
