    I found your channel through NL and I watched for months before I found out you were one of the best big brother winners ever (we were a Survivor family.) Seeing you on TV for the first time was an absolute treat, I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. It hurts that your first thoughts after leaving were of being a disappointment. I hope it doesn't discourage you from coming back. You are awesome, Dan. Keep being you

    It was a pleasure seeing you on our screens again! I got the sense that you didn't want to turn on Parvati, though that would have been an epic battle. Phaedra and Peter both really surprised me as a viewer as well, though Phaedra has always come across as sharp. I'd love to see you in future strategic competitions, and if anything I think this would make you a bigger threat for the next round. Not disappointed in any way. You are a huge reason this season of The Traitors was a hit and so fun to watch. (Plus, it's hard to play under the wire when you're the all time Big Brother champ!)

    Dan, don't listen to any of these haters or fake fans. I think some people just built up this impression That you were some sort of Untouchable social God that can maneuver himself out of anything and win any game. You are an exceptional competitor in Big Brother and the greatest of all time to do it. But you're also just a guy and a dad. You're a human being and Some people are seeing that for the first time. You were exceptional on traitors and provided an enormous amount of entertainment. All the way until the end you were entertaining. You did an all-right job Although you kind of squeaksed it But that's okay. We still love you big buddy. Keep your head held High. The haters will die down And you're going to have a lot more real long-term fans from this.

    Glad to see Dan graciously accept he lost. It's too bad that some people can't accept losing and make-up excuses or being cheated out of victory. Even after Phaedra served up Dan and shredded him to filth, he still took his wounds, got humbled, and admitted defeat.

    He knew he was a deas man walking either way. Exposing phaedra, when none of the other faithfuls suspected him, while he was on his way out the door.... That was petty, vindictive & spiteful. He hates that Phaedra played a better game than he did

    @@yoyobobi1722 how was it spiteful? It was best move he could make... If it worked. And it didnt. Thats it. But its clear it wasnt personal. He liked Phaedra very much just like everyone else. But Dan is a gamer. And it was the riskiest, but also highest reward move and Dan was there to win. Taking down anyone else than Phaedra would only buy Dan at most time to next roundtable. He would still get voted out. But taking down Phaedra? He would be next Peter in terms of innocence and still alive in the game. You are accusing Dan of something he never did in the show. Going personally after someone or being involved in negative emotions against anyone at any point during the show. He says in first 3 minutes here he was in it for the win. Going for anyone else than Phaedra would make him lose. So it was all or nothing. Dan played with risk and lost. Why look for something more when Dan is clearly one of the people that just play these games and dont take it personally? Parvati is clearly the same and people will probably bitch about her dellusionaly the same when she also goes for Phaedra to save her skin

  • @Bree5three

    @Bree5three

    4 ай бұрын

    @@kptmaci4979 No Parvati wasn't the same because she was in the exact same seat Dan was and played it differently by going with the group think and taking him out. It bought her another day. Dan getting Phaedra out would still have the target on his back because for such seemingly innocuous evidence, I mean the reasoning was so random he might as well have said "eenie meenie miney mo", hitting the nail on the head would've been suspicious, like Trishelle picked up on. And there's no shaking the fact that Peter set a trap for the other two that Dan walked into and wasn't going to rest until he saw them also voted out to satisfy his suspicions, so the writing was on the wall. What he should've been doing if he simply wasn't seeking self-preservation but to see both him and Parvati safe was to throw suspicion towards CT, he had all day to do it. It was just as risky a move and would mean not having to sacrifice another traitor but he's been plotting and scheming against Phaedra from day one without any rhyme or reason "but that he can't see her with him at the end." Could never elaborate why though. Poor sportsmanship, sore loser, spiteful.

  • @charlieburnham39

    @charlieburnham39

    4 ай бұрын

    Poor sportsmanship *maybe*, but if you think it's sore losing or spiteful you don't know Dan. Admittedly, I was very disappointed that Dan blundered twice in a row by not listening to Pavarti about Peter and then choosing to deflect onto Phaedra instead of Pavarti, who was already hot and could have exonerated him from the Bergie murder attempt if she went down. Ultimately I think he just underestimated his competition and did not think things through clearly. Easy for me to say as a viewer, of course, and a lot harder for Dan who was juggling 1000 other things, I'm not saying I could even come close to doing as well as he did, but as he admits he made too many crucial mistakes and didn't adapt quick enough. Ultimately though, Dan treats these competitions impersonally, and I think if you're saying he was being a sore loser, you didn't listen to him talk in this video.

    Dan had such a high bar to clear. No one is going into this season overly suspicious of a Housewife or a Bachelor. But a BB winner who is known for his ruthless play? No matter how Dan played the game, eyes were always going to be on him. It's not that Phaedra "ate him up" or whatever people want to say. It was just so much easier for Phaedra to hide in plain sight. Just the fact that Dan lasted as long as he did was super impressive.

  • @Paul-to1nb

    @Paul-to1nb

    5 ай бұрын

    Exactly. It doesn't matter that he was quiet. Being quiet IS the correct strategy in these games. If he threw out a name, that would've been suspicious, too. I don't think there was any way of breaking Phaedra's social barrier either. Sure, he could've planted some seeds and have Janelle / Parvarti / Sandra lead the push against Phaedra a couple nights before, but I think the housewives are too cliquey for anything to work have worked. Once Kate joined, it really sealed the deal, too. Now, could he have formed some closer bonds with more people? MAYBE. But, I don't think people realize how fast paced this show is. Janelle said they get like 35 minutes to strategize before the roundtable. That's insane. It's really hard to get people 1 on 1 in that short amount of time. Cirie's game was developing personal relationships with specific idiots that were easy for her to bond with (nice people, but so bad at the game), and bringing them to the end (also, never won a game before + most the cast was atrocious at the game last season). Sounds like the bonds Dan had formed all left early and mostly accidentally. He definitely should've been tighter with Janelle though. I think his best shot was getting her on to Phaedra's tail a few nights earlier. I also don't know why he let the suspicion of a housewife being the murderer die down after night 4. And he really underestimated Peter and the housewives, obviously. (To be fair though, Peter was pretty sloppy with his plan telling so many people. All it really did was confirm his confirmation bias. Glad he's actually trying to be strategic, though, when most people just make up reasons and latch on to that.) End of the day, so glad Dan came back. Very fun to watch! Dr. Will and Derrick are too afraid to ever compete again. I understand not wanting to let people down. It must be tough. But, really, I'm proud of Dan for stepping up for this.

Parv was convinced he was lying so he would’ve been gone and if he did have the shield, then he survives and you can say “why would I have killed you if I knew you had the shield” Dan was probably screwed either way though

    Poor Dan was in a lose/lose/lose situation. If he went for Parvati; Phaedra wouldn’t have trusted him, Phaedra tore him apart going after her, and everyone was gunning for him. You did well, Dan. Get em’ next time.

    High risk, high reward. When Dan talked to Peter he is gonna take his big swing in hot seat i suspected he is gonna throw Phaedra's name out. Cause that is a brilliant move and a BIG SWING. And if he managed to do it, he would go from hot seat, to being more clean and better detective than Peter xd The arguments were just bad and Phaedra was too good for them. Shame it has come to this. But it was still great to see Dan take huge risks like this. Not many traitors, or even faithfuls do in these games. It was definetely refreshing! I hope Dan plays traitors again with new strategies. He and Parvati as well as Peter and Sandra are the only ones so far out of 5 seasons I watched when I see people think 5 steps ahead.

    I'm a real housewives super fan and one thing about Phaedra, she's a lawyer first (a good liar). And Yes, she is always extra. I think she did herself a disservice by not fighting to find someone in the middle to bring on as a traitor because Dan and Phaedra chosen together was a forced relationship for him. He single handily chose Parvati to have a partnership, and Phaedra is just there by default and disposable to them. She played the faithfuls so good that even Dan would not have suspected her if he were a faithful. But him being selected as a traitor, privies him to all the information in the game and no matter how good she played only a traitor (an insider) exposing her game would be her demise.

    @@yoyobobi1722 it was best move for him in that position and Dan is a gamer. He takes high-risk, high-reward + he was already on his way out, so why not try to play a little bit more. He has expectations of being great player and honestly - he delivered. He went out with a bang, like few traitors do. If he took Phaedra out - he would be more clean than Peter from now on. But the arguments just werent there and Phaedra is well spoken so she just shredded him. Still. Cant be mad at player playing the game and it wasnt personal to Dan, clearly. Its just a game. He liked Phaedra, but he thought 5 steps ahead and it was the only way he was gonna actually have a chance at winning in the end. Voting at anyone else, even if successful, would only postpone Dan's banishment tbh

    100% Spot on. I liked the show and i especially loved watching Dan play again. But the format/production schedule does not lend itself well to players like Dan who are more reserved and thoughtful about gameplay, or "gamers" in other words. I had a feeling that there wasn't much time for players to strategize, but wrote that off as just how American TV is edited. It does suck though that Janelle really blew up your game and focused the light on you so hard, but that's just the kind of player she is too. It's like both of you were trying to play BB in a different game show. It's admirable to hear Dan acknowledge and take accountabity for some of the mistakes he made that were in his control. One thing is for sure though-- he didn't disappoint. Dan made me do a 180 on the Traitors. I didn't expect to be so anxious and excited each episode, but it was incredibly nice and entertaining watching worlds collide. I hope Dan takes another shot on a show where he has greater opportunities to interact and scheme with other personalities.

    From watching you on BB and without a doubt are the greatest to ever play in my opinion. This performance is no where near a failure Dan, it was an insane uphill climb for you more than any other cast member. As a fan I came in to the season with very low expectations and seeing an almost impossible path to victory for you. Nonetheless, thank you for coming out of retirement for yourself and for us. Hope to see you again soon if not it’s always a pleasure to watch you do these things Dan

    I just think once anyone hears you won Big Brother they just automatically think your a liar and can manipulate them. Watching you on BB I know that’s how you play, your quiet at first then come out at the end. Some of these reality stars it was their first time and if you weren’t amped up as them you were automatically a traitor (although true) I’m sad you got out, wanted to see you ride it out but loved watching you on my screen!

    I think this show is naturally harder for BB players than Survivor players because of the shorter timeframe. BB you lose 1 player a week, and can only choose between 2 people. Survivor (at least when Cirie played) lost 1 player every 3 days, and nearly everyone is available to be voted out, which is closer to how The Traitors works. We saw something similar when Cirie played BB, where she was playing too hard too fast because of all the extra downtime between vote outs. In Survivor you make a plan and stick to it because you don’t have time to overthink it.

I thought when you were about to sabotage Phaedra that you would cap it off with "And when Peter told me he had the shield, I gave the information to one person: Phaedra." I was so surprised you didn't. Did you consider doing that to set her up?

  • @Bree5three

    I don’t think it ever crossed his mind to say something like that but if he did Phaedra could’ve easily rebutted with “oh really, if so when and where did the conversation take place?” He obviously can’t say up in the turret and I believe Phaedra’s mainly with the housewives who could come to her defense again and say they’ve never witnessed a meaningful exchange between Dan and Phaedra. For someone he never thought as strategic, her strategy clearly was to stay as far away from those two as possible, especially Dan who was being suspected from minute one. Parvati was the one that kept being caught in private with him, no wonder Peter felt most convinced it was him and her.

    To everyone defending Phaedra: She wasn't a team player for the traitors either. She never defended or tried to remove suspicion from Dan or Parvity; she played the same passive, quiet game as Dan, throwing out no accusations to take heat off the traitors; she was more loyal to the faithful housewives than to the traitors, hence why she got so defensive when Parvity tried to blow up her spot. She was content on playing the quiet game surrounded by her faithful pals. Dan & Parvity didn't have that luxury & couldn't win with her doing that. I'd argue Kate was the strongest traitor. At least she spun some lies, confused MJ out of the win & made Trichelle distrust CT.

    It was a great showing! The show was super cool. I was really expecting you to betray Parvati to remove suspicion for the mistake you made falling for Peter's trap. I think the round table was rallied around Peter and were deadset on removing either you or Parvati, but you took the shot against a bystander instead. I really respect the bold move, but you made things real tough for yourself there. If you could get Phaedra out it would have been great for you.
