A very enjoyable change of viewpoint. Being out there gives a totally different perspective on the rail traffic. Thanks Les.

A busy late morning and an as busy late afternoon/early evening. Trust you had an enjoyable lunch, Les. A pleasure to see these expresses at speed instead of arriving at or departing from the platforms in Carlisle Citadel.

When there's a break in the weather I like to go up there. The wind is the downside to the location - can be fiercer than at the station.

Most enjoyable, fancy seeing a heat shimmer in Carlisle at this time of year. Interesting skies after the rain as well.

Very good Leslie, I do like that spot with the big curve where you can see them coming from quite a distance. All the best.

Its an excellent spot Tim but suffers from strong winds. The Quintinshill Loops are on the curve (Britain's worst railway disaster)

Very enjoyable change up. Seeing the DRS depot was quite interesting and a nuclear waste haul, if I am not mistaken? Some great angles... the shut from above the underpass and the long distance shot of the empty flatbeds going through the countryside stood out especially for me.

Those Class 67 locomotives are quite good looking machines!! I never thought that I’d appreciate this type of locomotive.

A change of location certainly paid off Leslie. Loved the flasks having to stop for the Tesco Boxes. Good location where the trains were coming out from under the M6 flyover. The trains speeding around the curves - beautiful 😊

The good thing about the Class 66 is that it runs smoothly. This is very much like any good locomotive. The only thing is that it looks like the back of a bus!!

The local passenger trains look very similar to the Abelio Greater Anglia trains, but in a very smart livery.

Some pretty long freight trains there. Just wondering what is the longest one you have ever seen/filmed? The Tesco one seemed to go on forever! It also makes me wonder how you get empty conflats in the middle of the train!

I'm not too sure but think that the Tesco train is the longest regular train in daytime through Carlisle. Occasionally some of the nighttime intermodals may get to be longer.
