Trains At London Blackfriars 21/09/21 (Thameslink Core)

In this video, I start and end my spotting session of my 21st of September London trip at London Blackfriars.
Blackfriars is a very historic station with great railway history surrounding the area and the station.
Just next to the station are old pillars that were part of the old Blackfriars bridge and station.
The station has a lot of history, so the best thing is to research it and we'll focus on today's Blackfriars station.
Located over the river thames between Charing Cross and Cannon Street, Blackfriars is the first station on the south side, on the main part of the Thameslink route call the Thameslink Core, where all services meet and travel through London.
The Thameslink Core is the only rail line in London that connects the south to the north (apart from the West London Line where trains from Clapham head to Milton Keyns).
Blackfriars is a Thameslink operated station and it has 4 platforms.
Here you will only see services from Thameslink, however Southeastern did terminate here years ago with services from Sevenoaks but Thameslink have since taken over that route and now all you see are Class 700 Deiro City trains.

Just a slight correction to your description. Southeastern do run to Blackfriars, albeit a very limited peak hour service (two morning arrivals and one evening departure). And of course you sometimes get Southeastern diversions at weekends in conjunction with engineering works. Otherwise a good video 👍

2 carriage trains are terrible in relation to Thameslink's 12 carriage trains.
