We've got a handful of opertunities to still see them but just one more to travel on them. XC's 1E73 is the last PASSENGER run of a full length HST anywhere on the UK Mainline. Theres then a charter to Swanage on the 26th and another to Blackpool on the 29th. After this, its a bit uncertain but the sets will almost certainly be making there way into storage or to the scrap yard.. These are dark days my friends.

What a great place to do train spotting next to the seaside

Love to go to Dawlish to see the trains and the sea. Very picturesque town by the sea in South Devon. A good place for train spotting as well when the weather is nice and calm.

Dawlish railway station is on the Exeter to Plymouth line and serves the town of Dawlish in Devon, England. It is 206 miles 7 chains from London, measured from the zero point at London Paddington via Box. The station is built on the sea wall, as is the railway line, and has often suffered from storm damage due its proximity to the sea. South of the station, the line passes through five tunnels through the cliffs as it follows the coast.

I was on the sea wall that very day and saw the crosscountry hst at Teignmouth

14:08 it's so sad to see that last clip it feels like the end of HST's.

Everyone dont go of this video before saying farewell to the xc class 43s they served us well

My favourite trains are avatan west coast south eastern and southern my favourite station is east Croydon and Clacton on sea because it is very fun it has about 200 arcades a pier with rolcoster rides and so many other things thats why I love Clacton on sea

Hsts are delightful units! They will be missed!

You cant get much more seaside than Dawlish itself! Thanks Spectrum, highly recommend visiting, its quite a busy town and the Black Swans are very interesting too 😃

It is a great shame Arnold. Under different non-COVID circumstances, things could have been different. History will remember this moment and I am fearful that we have made a very bad decision to withdraw them.. time will tell!

Its very disappointing for every British railway company to scrap the OG trains

I’ll be sorry to see the HSTs disappear - they’ve served the country very well and are far better than what has replaced them. OK, I guess not so economically viable or environmentally friendly, but still the best for long-distance travel.

Just wondering was there a incident when you filmed this as no one majority of those trains are late. Especially some by over 15 minutes. Was their some kind of incident near exeter or bristol temple meads.

That's what I was thinking. Then I realised I used to travel on the Virgin Trains service from Birmingham New Street to Paignton on this very scenic route.
