    Thanks for watching! I try to take my time when training to make sure the person that I’m training gets a full understanding of what I’m doing. When I trained the person was going fast and it was annoying. I don’t want the people I train to get overwhelmed and feel like they have to rush. They will eventually get faster as they get more comfortable. Stay safe out there and God bless!

    Any tips for someone aspiring to become a tow truck operator. Are there any schools or training that I can attend? I am from Texas. Any leads will be greatly appreciated thank you.

    Morning! Unfortunately there’s no regular towing school. They do have programs like wreckmaster but they don’t teach you basic stuff. My recommendation would be to go to a local company and see if they’re hiring and willing to train. Maybe you can ride with someone for a day and see if towing is for you cause it’s not for everyone. When I first started towing I went to a company and trained for 2 weeks unpaid but I got the free training. Hopefully you could find a good trainer that will take their time training you so that you could learn the right way and safe way. I have a video you can watch that gives a basic of how I do a job. I’m sure there’s companies that are willing to train. There a company called Campbells towing that might train you but I don’t know where in Texas you are. You can always google local tow companies around you and reach out to them. Here’s the video I was telling you about. Thanks for the tips and the videos, they have been very helpful. I called all of the towing companies over here in El Paso (32) and one of them called me back telling me they were looking for a driver and were willing to take me with no experience (all of the other companies that told me they were hiring were looking for drivers with experience). I am going for an interview next week.

    @@JoseReyes-jq9kw you’re welcome! Unfortunately, a lot of companies are like that because they don’t want someone that doesn’t have experience because it’s too much of a liability risk. Good luck on your interview. I hope it works out for you. There are companies out there that are willing to train you just gotta find them. You can always start out as a service tech doing jumpstart and lockouts, etc. and work your way into a truck. You can watch my videos and learn, and then you’ll have some experience. 😂

    Did I hear you correctly to use the parking brake when winching a vehicle?

  • @TowMan127

    @TowMan127

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes you heard correctly. Unless the parking brakes are electronic, you can use them to help keep the vehicle from rolling on its own. You don’t put the brake on all the way, just enough that the vehicle won’t roll on its own but will roll when you pull it with the winch.
