Thanks! We always say that if you loose your patience, be done for the day. Calm trainers are good trainers.

Glad you enjoyed it!
We have 6 llamas at present and they're primarily for guarding our sheep. I've felt bad that we didn't train them more, but we never expected to take them off our ranch trekking. I now realize this was a mistake. They do come up to us. Eat out of our hands, let me share their space. And cooperate with moving from pasture to pasture. But none have halters or have been restrained in a catch pen for shearing. Fortunately our Montana weather is cool. 3 our young and 3 are older (7-12 years). Is it too late to train our older ones? I have much more time now.
Really enjoy your videos
maybe one day I can come up there and rent one for a hunr
Cool stuff! 😀
After all this training time with the llamas, do you have a favorite?

Michael, out of this group of boys... probably Bonsai. He's the sweetest 💗 But it's tough to pick favorites when you spend so much time with them. They are all so different.

@@wildernessridgetrailllamas6971 Kirstin, you are so good with these animals. I can tell that you are patient and loving. Thanks for sharing. Excellent trainer!!!
I heve one question : ken you ride a lama?
Once they are haltered how do you get them to step forward? I have been able to get the halter on my 14month old male and he allows me to touch his cheeks, ears and top of his head but he locks up and refuses to step forward.
You need to be tied to the fence
