He just seems like such a big gentle giant. But more importantly, it seems like he knows you saved his life. He will always be your horse.
He was a trained colt when he was sold. I can tell by the fact that he is able to respond effectively to commands/instructions. He enjoyed training. That tells me he is intelligent. The first buyer of Oliver knew this and so did other traders. He just got stuck in the auction cycle. So heartbreaking! You got yourself an amazing horse. I am glad you can recognize that. He is such a lovable boy!
Having your biggest horse Oliver and your smallest horse Colt together is just adorable ❤️ so happy to see him doing well, he's such a gentle giant.
Oliver seems smart and learns quickly. He's a doll.❤
Oliver is such a good boy and he already loves you and sees you as a leader, because he knows, what you did for him. And he is really smart too. Greetings from Germany!
I think Oliver really fell in love with you when you started feeding him apples❤😂
He’s young so not as well balanced, but he tries so hard to please. 🥰
How can anyone not love this gentle giant. That he is an intact boy is amazing. What a gem.
Oliver and Colt, the dynamic duo❤

I love his buddy, so cute.
It is so wonderful to see how much better Oliver looks. He accepts his “training with love” so well. You obviously know how to do it well. 👍👏
I truly believe animals know when they’ve been saved and Yes, you saved his Life!! Thank you so very much!! ❤❤
We're all so grateful that you rescued the horse.
You have a remake of "The Odd Couple". The two boys are fun to watch. Still can't believe you tracked down the sad auction horse from the first video AND GOT HIM!
His color is so much better! His lips were dead white when you picked him up; now they are a very healthy pink!
He's had an amazing transformation since you brought him home. Well done!
Oliver and Colt are so cute together. The biggest and the smallest!
Oliver is so much better now! He'd never have been able to balance on 3 legs before! What a smart boy and a knowledgeable handler!
Y’all may have bought a horse but I think now you got a “puppy” & daddy’s boy. ❤

Agreed, he's like a big Great Dane puppy, IMO.
Just imagine where this young horse would be if you folks (and the go-fund-me people) hadn't saved his life from that horrible place in Texas. It's a joy to see him healing and responding so well

Well he surely would have been dead by now..two horses went down when they picked up Oliver..one died and they were trying to get the other one up as they left..JR said thats why Oliver didn't lay down for 2 weeks because he knew he wasn't strong enough to stand up again..he said if he'd been left there and gone down that would have been his end..he. was that close to death by how starved he was to..that's from the vet...they definitely saved him and I truly think Oliver knows that too .he just loves JR..

@@charlievandien6578 yes from an Amish farmer..who JR has spoken to because they saw the video and contacted JR and sent him a photo of what Oliver looked like as a 1 yr old when he was sold..he looked mighty fine .they still have Olivers mother who they said us so kind and gentle she trains all the newbies as she is just so well behaved so Oliver has his mothers gentle nature..both parents are over 17 hands tall so Oliver has a lot of growing to do..
I knew when I saw Oliver sharing his food with Colt that he is a good, sweet boy with a gentle, loving temperament. Seeing his work time just proved it. I sure wish I could give him a pat on that beautiful face! 😍
Oliver is going to be magnificent, he is filling out very nicely, but Colt is a cutie, quite cheeky but cute.
He’s such a different horse now, he knows he’s in the best place & wants to please you. He has such a sweet nature, he’s a snugglebug too bless him.
So sweet how this stallion just walks up to you lol! He loves you guys so much and knows you're saving his life. He's so mild mannered and sweet in these videos I am totally enamored of him!! Thrilled that you took him in!! Looking forward to watching his training he's so smart and kind thank you for sharing him with us all!💜💜💜💜
Just love that his eyebrows are still there! He is filling out so nicely. What a good boy!
Oliver is such a sweetheart. A big ole gentle giant 💓
It's crazy how emotionally invested I am in a horse I will never meet, owned by people I will never meet. I guess life is funny like that. 😊 He looks like he is doing sooooo much better.
Oliver is powered by pure joy! Colt is so adorable!
He looks so good and was such a good boy. And those lips. What a heart throb.
He is like a sweet 6 year old boy starting his school and looking at the teacher with round admiring eyes. He can enjoy his free time, too.
I am amazed at the quality of care you administrate to Oliver. The delicate balance of his medication is fastenating to listen to. I know now I never would have been able to keep and properly maintain one. I still live vicariously through you and yours. God bless you and your family for the excellent care you give to all of them. And matching Oliver and tiny Colt is certainly a match made in Heaven. Tks

Yes me too, since I became disabled, watching this channel is so enjoyable. I just wish I could come and help the Rosa family but I would just get in the way. 😂
JR is an excellent horseman. His quiet, patient persona is brilliant and I love how he praises Oliver so much. Such a great team. Oliver sure does love his Dad. ❤ Ps, well done in your perseverance with the EPM meds. That was so perceptive of you about the supplements. Great job. X
He is such a good boy. It seems as if he just wants to love and be loved. I love watching you train your horses and how you explain what they are thinking. Have a great weekend!
Ah yes - combining medication may have unexpected outcomes, especially organic ones where not all the compounds and their concentration are known exactly. Glad you figured it out so quickly and Oliver’s back on track now. 😊
What a good boy he is!....Oh Oliver, you my friend are adorable.❤🇨🇦❤️
Yeah, I’ll take such good care of this big old boy baby, and I’m so thankful that you think you got his EPM straightened out. I watch a show because I so love the knowledge that you share. And I really love watching this baby draft horse. And watching him work makes me happy because that means he is getting more stable neurologically.❤
There's just something so sweet about a 6+ foot, big tall guy talking so sweetly to his huge 1,000 lb. horse! If JR could drive Oliver around in the front seat of his truck like a dog, he would! And Oliver would hang his head out the window as well. 🤣
Such a sweet boy. JR YOU ARE SO GOOD TO HIM. What a joy he is.
Ollie~!
Oliver loves Emory and always wants to engage with her.❤
The trust he shows you is nice.
Great news about Oliver’s update! He’s such a sweet gentle boy!
Like most of us Oliver feels best if he trusts the people he's working with - understands what's required from him - his given time and patience and a loving hand during his training period and if healthy and fit and up to his expectations. Oliver really did land with the right farm-family.
Oliver loves and trusts you ! He is so grateful to you for saving him. Colt and Oliver are so cute together. ❤😊
He seems so gentle and seems to do as you ask it. God bless. He's such a beautiful boy..🇺🇸🌹❤️
Oliver's coming along so wonderfully. And the way you're taking everything nice and slow it isn't getting overwhelmed or anything like that so it's easier for them to learn your training methods work well
He is a big boy, so you do need to discipline him when needed. Any stallion needs firm handling with rewards. Manners, manners, manner.....

That's necessary for any horse. I have a huge gelding (a bit more than 6 foot), very gentle, good natured. Still, in dangerous Situation (in his mind), he has to listen to me otherwise he or I can get hurt. Trust and authority are the Key components

@@pja8722 However, if you train a horse with fear and force, the day may well come when they are more afraid of something than they are of you. Train with trust, and when something happens they will ask what to do. And yes you must pay attention because some stuff happens suddenly. Works even with hot bloods.

He did so well!! ❤ Such a good handsome boy. 🥰🫶

Brilliant job!!! He looks gorgeous. Those eyes! Certainly hasn't lost his appetite always a good sign. Thank you all for taking such excellent care of Oliver xxxx he obviously adores you it's lovely to watch.
Aww. Oliver just loves you so much. You can see it in his eyes! You saved his life & created a bond that will last for eternity! God bless you!❤
Thanks for the Oliver updates. Absolute favorite videos are ones with Colt & Oliver. What a pair!
He is so keen to please. I imagine his training will go really well. It is cute that he, your biggest horse, has a best friend in your smallest horse. And of course Colt is the bossy one. He will not be so easy to train!
Backing strengthens the rear end so another good sign that he feels better. 😊 Boy, he is really starting to fill out! How wonderful! So glad you rescued this sweetie pie!! He's so cute 😍
Oliver is a comical personality he is so sweet. You have achieved such a lot in such a short period of time. ❤️

I've never seen a horse being trained from the very beginning. It's really interesting. Like dealing with a very, very large child who's starting school! ❤ Thanks, JR, for sharing with us all.
Oliver looks sooo much better!👏👏👏❤️
Amazing Oliver is doing so well to start training ❤️ I can't help but find it funny him and Colt together, the size difference and all but they're adorable 🥰
Good to hear Oliver is still on the road to recovery. Nice to see he's starting his training and has a good bond with you. Hope all goes well with the farrier ❤
Oliver and Cole are such honey's.😍 Bless your hearts💕
He’s looking great, he no longer looks too big in the head for his body. Lord knows it is a big head😊 he’s certainly gained good weight and looking so bright and interested in life thanks to you kind hearted, knowledgeable people. You both have very soothing voices. My parents used draught horses on the farm when we were children, I loved that they were so obedient with “backup, whoa, and walk up” such honest, hard working , safe giants to handle. We all learned how to put their collars and reins on and attach the chains and swingle tree. We even rode them at times, it felt as though we were so powerful when we got them into a canter lol. One would try to buck and it was so funny, they hardly left the ground. Ohhhh, great days. Just LOVE these videos, thankyou so much. ❤❤

Oliver. I love his name. And his funny face. And his all around adorableness! I've been eagerly waiting for a nice long video about him. Thanks so much because it's about you, too. Beautiful feelings when watching Oliver. Do you have any idea how much you're helping a disabled lady in pain who grew up to be a real horsewoman? Don't be scared. We have a loving little community here. It's hard to find a place online that isn't weird and creepy, but Oliver has brought a lot of souls together! I don't know if you have a pet, but have you thought about an emotional support animal? I don't mean to be pushy; I just know that we all need a few kind words every now and then!
Sweet Oliver is so gentle and so smart!! He loves you I can see with your training of him. So cute together Oliver and Colt love this friendship!! They are good for one another!! Great video!!!
Oliver is such a perfect name for him.
I'm orthodox Jewish and I have to say, your acknowledgement for animals' place as being here for our benefit and dominion, yet acknowledgement of our place as being responsible for their care and wellbeing is really refreshing and rare. On the internet, I see trainers on both ends of the spectrum (either they have no regard for the wellbeing of the horse, or are animal rights activists who take it too far), but never someone as Gd-fearing and Gd-loving as yourself. Even here in Israel, work with animals in this way is rare. Thank you for contributing something as humble (in a good way) and holy as your work, to the internet. I admit, I initially came to your channel through one of the Oliver shorts- however, I subscribed after hearing one of your videos where you stated (with sentiment straight out of Bereshit/Genesis) that an animal should have a purpose and job. Gd willing you should be provided for in abundance and your prayers should be answered.
