It’s sad that people gave Kit a hard time about his body image and it being one of the reasons he went to the gym. Just a few months ago he was harassed and accused of queer baiting on Twitter and was forced into coming out as bisexual because people wouldn’t respect his wishes or privacy. Finding out that he was body shamed for not being ripped before he was in Heartstopper just further shows how ignorant and crappy people still are. He deserves better than that. I’m just glad Kit is doing good now, and I’m glad that he’s more comfortable with his body image.

Actually, the most noteworthy part of this isn't the workout. It's hearing Kit speak casually for an extended period, rather than in an acting role or in "interview" mode. He comes off even more charming than before, if such a thing is possible.

One thing I noticed that people haven’t really pointed out is how kind and incredible this instructor is! He doesn’t push kick too far, but he constantly tries to motivate him to do better! And that’s crazy that he benchpress 110 after not doing it for a while! That’s really a crazy feat, give Kip Moore credit!

I’m not gonna lie the trainer is such a fun guy, honestly makes this so cool to watch as well

I feel so bad and yet happy for Kit because he's going to the gym to help his mental health but that one of the reasons he started to going to the gym was because ppl made comments about his appearance but he's looking great

Kit is so buff I thought no way is he a teenager, but he actually is. It wasn’t just that he’s buff. Kit seems to have this natural sweetness and kindness to his personality. He hasn't allowed his growing fame to go to his head and appears to be a well-grounded person . And I binged watched both seasons of Heartstoppers and can see he's got an immense well if acting talent he has only just started tapping into. I could see him playing a variety of roles in the future from a prince charming type role to becoming a great action film stat to taking on more serious Oscar worthy roles. He's got a bright future ahead of him

Kit Connor is quickly becoming my favorite actor!!! I feel happy to see him here, doing the best he can to keep moving forward with himself. It takes time, and it's worth the effort. I started training as a capoeirista last summer, and I love the martial art by a lot. It's incredibly dynamic, and really teaches you how to use both your body and your social/language skills. So seeing this from my favorite actor is inspiring. I can see something similar that I'm going through myself in it. So thank you Kit. Honestly, I found love for it when I was in groups where there wasn't competition. Joining running and gym groups that were supportive, rather than competitive helped eliminate a lot of the shitty experiences I had growing up as a queer kid

Tbh I started to just do "sporty" activities that I already loved like hiking and dancing. I used that to creat a routine and my body started getting used to physical activity. After that I just moved to a gym that had a couple other queer people attending, friends, so it was an easier transition. I've been enjoying it so far, I celebrate every little progress my body makes :) Ps. Also agree with the "groups without competition" comment. I realized I got triggered by group sports, so I just avoid them and try other sports

I used to do dancing when I was younger and I'm naturally active, I started going to this boxing gym a couple years ago because I heard about it by a cousin, I went and loved it. There no one really is judgmental, they just want to help me do the technique correctly and to help me grow. If you don't like school/team sports I would highly recommend sports like snowboarding, skiing, climbing, mountain biking, hiking, boxing even. Those sports are individually lead mostly, and will help you gain confidence. I can say that boxing and snowboarding has helped my confidence, my psychical health, and even can connect you with other people. the climbing gym by my place has queer climbing nights and the people working there is mostly part of the LGBT community.

One thing bothered me about this. Kit said his legs are not bad and then the trainer mentioned shorts season (as in, you need to get them in better shape because everyone is going to see them). Nooo!! Do not project body insecurities onto him. It could make him and people watching feel self-conscious. Kit has said he is influenceable. Of course he is. Most people are. In addition, he is young and feels the weight of people’s expectations, whether healthy or not. But Kit doesn’t need to bulk up for anyone. Fans adore him as Nick - exactly the way he is - and the fact the cast looks like actual high schoolers. It’s refreshing and positive! I hope he has a healthy self image and is going to the gym for his mental health and not to satisfy some misguided “fans”. 💜

lowkey.. this vid majes me wanna hit the gym again. I have two gyms i can go to but idk lazyness for the first gym and too scared for the second cause of so many people. But seeing people freely talk with mics on and everything, it just makes me realise a bit more that no one is looking at me. Everyone is just focused on their own performance. My weight, outfit or what I'm lifting doesn't matter to anyone but me. It's quite refreshing
