Love this! Anyone can appreciate these takeaways: - Step out of your comfort zone - Break up a long-term goal into small chunks - Know your why - Create the environment to bring out your best performance - Focus on the process rather than just the goals Look forward to the full episode. Thank you Floris for all this excellent content!

Great takeaways right there Amelia!
Words of wisdom. He's not only a physical freak, but a very wise and sensitive person. he's one in a million. ❤
"It is part of my experience to pass through these moments." -- Killian Jornet
What a great piece of advice from Master, "focus on the process not on the goal "
Can’t agree more with needing to enjoy the process and not just the “good day” results!
I saw Kilian towards the end of the Ring of Steall in Scotland, a few minutes in the lead and a big smile. I find the same, always try to smile, it just makes you feel good. The guys following mainly had a grimace!

Great stuff Floris. Can't wait to see full interview.
Hype up for the interview
As I wake up this morning, this is quite a race with only about 7 miles to go! I search for some live coverage on youtube and find this Great interview.

It's so exciting to watch, Kilian is looking strong, so close to the finish now. Greg, I have found these two good for tracking: hr100-22.maprogress.com/ and twitter.com/iRunFar

One legend beat another. Not sure how many more times we will get to see Kilian and François go toe to toe. This time Kilian prevailed, strengthening his case for g.o.a.t., but it was a wonder to behold. Both men are legends.
Kilian rocks. Big time. What an inspiration.
"Enjoy the process." Yes to that whether running or playing guitar. A good listen. Thanks Floris..
Wow! Looking forward to this already!

:D As "Ordinary" as it sounds, I'm always impressed with how much thought goes into his approach to training and racing, with many notes in his journals along the way.
YESSS! Floris - you officially have the best channel on KZread. Best guests on the podcat From the greatest road marathoner ever to the greatest ultra runner ever!! Incredible. Usain Bolt next?!?! Haha

I think you'll enjoy the discussion around HRV, heat training, etc. Applies to your hot / humid Florida conditions as well!

When is full pod out?
I actually just called a Kenyan on the phone. He told me its about doing the run and still running, not about being the fastest, winning and competing for first. It was really inspirational. He was 4th fastest in Kenya big race but now he just works in some customer service office. Made me feel better about being slow. Alot of people had blood clots recently and those who did some have scar tissue in their legs and have to battle harder just to go at a slow pace. Vo2max had it but it went to his lungs. If it stays in your leg it can ruin your calf muscles and veins. Then you have to figure out do you want to run still if you can't compete or win or get the like nervous competitive excitement anymore for a long time or ever? Then you are really a runner if its not about the competition, when its really just about the running. Other injuries as well but blood clots are fast unexpected, shocking and can just mess u up. If your legs is swollen and red, or hot in 1 leg, get to a doctor fast guys. There is sudden adult, syndromes. Also after an injury you can develop extremely high blood sugar after a donut binge rage and gummy worms and drinking soda and eating cupcakes all day and gain 30 pounds. If you gain that weight and slowed due to 30 pounds of dead weight and have to relearn running, thats why you are a real runner, not just to be a skinny 19 year old and smoke everyone because you are light weight have natural talent on 300MG caffeine and have a good coach. You got to run run run and you get more and more out of running if you really enjoy it, not listen to music nonsense or yap, but just run run.
Hi Floris, a question not exactly related to the video: what is your opinion on how much sodium (salt caps) should a low carb runner take on a marathon? Thanks
Floris is alive!

Haha the heart is still beating last time I checked!
I do this on a 12 minute run!!! I'm almost half way now!.. Only 4 mins to go!.. Just 2 more!! Seriously!! 🤣 I can't imagine keeping this up for hours!!!!
well, as expected, both killian and francois are toe-to-toe up to the last aid station... then, after that, its a gentleman's war, possible, not much of agreement between them (we dont know).. and expected, killian has the speed, and won the hardrock 2022..

They surely kept it exciting until the end. We ran that course this morning, much respect for Kilian being able to give a final push after all that climbing at 11k feet vert average.

@@FlorisGierman as versatile as killian is for faster-shorter races, and this longer races, i too, would expect he will be a bit faster to that end, even if both of them(francois) have a very good day...
I hope you didn't bring up HRT 😒
