That foal is super chonky, haha! If he's 8 months old, he's not going to be horse sized, just pony sized. You both did well here.

Do you have experience to make a video on how to tame an untouched mare that has a 3 month old foal? I have an untouched mare like this the couple that was finding her a home told me she was born on their land and had never been touched or anything so we waiting for her to foal and now that she has I’m ready to try and start working her some but her mind is only on her foal no matter what we try.

My advice would be to wait until the foal is weaned at 6-8 months. Because when a mare is protecting her foal it can be a dangerous situation! Much better to wait until you can properly wean the foal and then when the mare has forgotten about the foal and is calm then you start working with her. Otherwise it’s a nightmare trying to work with the mare or the foal when they are both untamed! Hope that makes sense.

How long did episode 1 and 2 actually take. the 2 foals your working with, do you usualy do a hour or so or is it a long day of rince and repeat. is 6 or 7 hours to much is it just 1 hour or so you work with the foal on day 1?????

I had our saddle guy put a ring on a rope for me, like yours, to use with our little one. I noticed in both your videos you have the rope on with ring at the top, intentionally, I'm guessing?

That’s awesome! Yeah it’s just important that the rope slips freely through the ring so that whenever I release the rope it also slackens at the loop 😊

Thanks! Usually my clients horses or horses I purchase as project horses 😊 I started training back in 2009. I was an apprentice with a local trainer called Ron Choate in Oklahoma and learned almost everything from him!

And some lady posted of gentleman named "Ron Choate" training her horse. It didn't say Oklahoma, but it sure looked like it. Thats a really rewarding experience if you have the right tools and knowledge! 🙌🏼 It's hard to say because every horse is so different price wise. If it helps you my newest horse cost only $500

I would not have done any of this training before halter training this foal.

That is also an option. This foal had been haltered before and had also been handled. He just reacted a lot in the beginning! There will be loads more episodes and you can see his improvement 😊

What a big difference from when you started, compared to how it ended with him calmly standing still while you approached him. Great job!

@@HorsePerfect I hadn't read much of the other comments, but that really surprises me! Keep in mind, professional horse trainers are probably not watching your videos, so, consider the source! Anyone who loves horses, or animals in general, can see the fine work you're doing & appreciate your training methods. But unfortunately, there will always be "haters" who only feel good by putting others down. But don't lower yourself to their level, haters feed off of negativity. They're not worth your time & they don't deserve a reply, but If you do reply to them, make it a generic one, such as, "Thanks! I love learning new techniques, where can I watch your videos?" Stay positive, y que Dios te bendiga!🙏🙌

​@@loncho5079I don't like reading hate comments and hate replies. I personally don't mind when horse trainers and owners making firm contacts on horses with a lunge whip as long as it's firm and not harsh, including those who don't. Giving firm whacks is different than harsh ones. You just have to look closely, is all. Plus, horses who are super reactive will flip or fall over backwards, and I know Horse Perfect wouldn't do it on purpose since I watched his other videos before he was training the foals. There is a humongous difference between doing on purpose and not on purpose. I just can't stand it when haters see a part in the video that they think is done on purpose, pause said video, leave a hate comment, then not watch anymore videos when they should watch the ones before these ones. Plus, mistakes will happen at any day of training, too. We all make mistakes, but haters want us to feel guilty for it.

Before the foal knows why he's being choked he's throwing a rope at him. There's no trust there . He's not catching his gaze. He's just forcing that foal into submission.. dragging him around the place.. giving the foal no time to understand.. the foals exhausted and stunned.. he's not showing to me any desire to communicate with this man who is forcing him into all this. The foal is tense all the time..
