I wanted #Gun to get in as much as anyone else but in the end it was the votes that decided. I.M had actually been through a lot before he was even in Starship.

Ugh rewatching this for the first time in a while makes me wonder how Starship ever made the mistake of splitting these two up. They were the best combo with the best chemistry. I love I.M (I'm biased towards the rapper line in the group) but honestly, as a group that mainly focuses on hip-hop, three rappers probably would've been okay. But whatever, it's the past and I'm sure #gun will get his time to shine.

#GUN is the guy with the red cap here. He was part of NuBoyz and he participated in No.Mercy but didn't make it to Monsta X. He also participated this year in SMTM5 and he ended TOP 6. Then he finally debuted this July with the song "Beep" as a solo artist.

Yes No.Mercy was a survival show to decide the members of Monsta X. They were 12 trainees (13 if we count I.M that was added later to the show) and they were all ranked being number 1 the best trainee and number 12 the "worst". The rank changed each episode. At the end Monsta X's members were chosen by judge and audicence votes. I recommend you to watch the survival if you are interested in Monsta X.

I would buy this song. I would pay a surprising amount of money for it.

honestly i agree with people that these two are the biggest and most shippable ship ever. However, Gun and Jooheon should not debut together under the same group. - If they do, the rest will never be able to shine because this is one massive ship itself - Gun is not prepared yet, he still needs time to grow. Strictly speaking in this perf, Jooheon is better and Gun sorta supported Jooheon and made him shine more. Jooheon has a more stable voice - do notice two - three times Gun's voice actually gave way and cracked a little because his voice couldn't keep up with the intensity he was trying to portray. However, Gun is able to portray more emotions using his voice and his puns / rhymes are actually (sound) super super good. While Jooheon's voice is raw power and psychotic form of sarcastic. - Both are loveably psychotic. - As i feel, Gun needs more time to work on his vocal strength and when he does he will rise and debut with a boom (preferably as a soloist eheh)

I met Monsta X way after their debut but still I watched No mercy... I really hate Starship for splitting #GUN and Jooheon. Like, their chemistry is no joke, they would've fucking blow everyone but no, they just added two rappers... I still got mad and I internally cry. I think #GUNxJooheonxI.M would've been amazing.

They are like the same person in two bodies. Their chemistry is just too great.

#GUN deserved to be the eighth member of Monsta X, Jooheon, I.M and #GUN would be unbeatable. #GUN is not treated with the respect he deserves, his lyrics are incredible, his stage presence, he entered NO.MERCY prepared, he was already an idol just like Shownu and Jooheon. To this day, I hope he gets the recognition he deserves.

This was my favorite performance. Now instead of enjoying it, it makes me cry. Sigh.

Watching this again in 2017 honestly i only get know why they were separated. I personally think that the sole reason they didnt put gun in the group is because jooheon and gun matched to well that they sound like one person rapping. They needed balance and while their chemistry was off the charts, gun whose tone and voice is similiar to jooheon lost at stage presence and skill

I would kill to see that on a stage. These two literally move like one body but rap in two voices that sync together so fucking perfectly. I don't even know where to begin just talking about how amazed I was watching this. Just...I would kill to see them live as a duo on stage and performing like this. #GUN needs to be brought back.

Gun is currently in Top 6 of SMTM5. His match will air today i think. His opponents are Seo Chulgu (a guy super good in freestyle), Bewhy, CJamm (of Just Music, under Swings, Top 6 contestant in SMTM3), Reddy (of Hilite crew) and Superbee (Top 12 contestant in SMTM4)

+rebecca mahmood well gun, seo chulgu and reddy are out. you should really go mnet official to watch their performances - they're super good. If i were to rank, i think Superbee might be ousted and Cjamm, Bewhy are tbh neck-to-neck. So far Cjamm and Bewhy's producer teams have been giving high quality track that are crazily topping charts. It all comes down to who can up the previous performance another level and continue to impress.

I watched No.Mercy right after falling in love with Monsta X especially Jooheon and I.M. But this performance was damn perfect and I was like just... why Starship why? But then I understood everything. Jooheon is versatile, he could both, he was really comfortable with everything, but not #Gun, he just could't be in the idol group. It's still okay with Trespass or Rush, which are more hip hop, but with Hero and then with Beautiful... It was just good for him to debut as soloist but it feels like he needs more promo. Also back then Jooheon said that they really wanted to work together on something but they don't really had time. Long time ago Wonho said that he wanted a sub-unit like NuBoyz. I hope it will come one day

watching no mercy, i can't help but grow attached to #GUN even though i know later on he'll be eliminated. I really fell for his eccentric and energetic personality. The judges were being harsh on him and said that he's not a good rapper and his rap is 'old fashioned'. Yet he's always passionate and trying his best to make his family proud. at the last episode when he got eliminated i can't help but cry and feel bad for him. It was his goal to debut with Jooheon. They have a very nice chemistry even though they have different rapping styles. But don't get me wrong, I love Monsta X the way it is rn and I know rn #GUN is a solo rapper but really, it's such a shame. Can't Monsta X have 8 members lmao. If he was in Monsta X i'll definetly stan him. Best wishes for Monsta X and the eliminated trainees, hope they'll always be succesful!

i see where people are coming from because they obviously have good chemistry and LOVE performing together. but from a musical standpoint...it's honestly just like hearing Jooheon and a less skilled Jooheon perform together. Jooheon just really outshines #GUN and that would be so bad in a kpop group lol. that's why Jooheon and I.M are good together in a group, because their individual styles make them both stand out. i think in the end it just makes more sense for Jooheon and #GUN to have a collaboration stage or song or whatever, rather than having them in the same group.
