Love the old westerns ty
Hooray! A nail-biting western.
A western movie is always a western...it never disappoints you ...I just love it 😍🤩
Hello! I like the Old West!
Good fast moving western, great characters, plenty of action.
Very entertaining! Thanks for posting!
I first saw this in Minneapolis in 1955, when TV was still rather bare-bones. *The local stations played this frequently to fill in their allotted air time, and one of them played it no less than FOUR TIMES in one day and for a total of SEVENTEEN times in that week. By the end of the week I knew the script better than the cast did........................and it's still a ho-hum movie.

Several days and nights on the train to Tombstone and you see the same mountain peak in the background. At this rate, we will never get to Tombstone.

Except that most likely this was filmed in the Owens Valley in CA. Near Lone Pine , CA. And the Alabama Hills. Favorite film location of so many Western movies.
Growing up in Southern California, I watched this picture at least 100 times...I always liked Don Red Barry...I wanted to look like him when I was a kid...now when I take my teeth out I sort of resemble him...
That was a great movie, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for posting this Western most of the movies you play I have never heard of before I've seen inspector general probably a hundred times or more when I saw it last it was like I saw it for the first time a timeless classic there's one other movie I seen before it was a film noir movie but it was worth seeing again it was so good I just like the fact that you play a lot of b movies because I love b movies they had a lot of great character actors and they didn't always have a-list stars in them and they didn't need them because they're good actors to some of my favorite movies b movies including movie serials thanks for posting
I enjoyed that, amusing, few good twists and not so long as to get boring, good film.
Dayam. I’ve been on trains in Greece, Slovenia, Macedonia, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Japan, South Korea , Thailand and Laos and none of them were as exciting as this.

Thanks for posting this excellent film. One thing struck me was that nobody visits the toilet - if there is one- , and hardly anyone eats or drinks.
@BETTERWORLDSGT
2 жыл бұрын
In those days there wasn't much for toilets on trains. Some had a toilet with just a hole in the floor. Towns had no running water, only outhouses for toilets. There weren't the kind of conveniences We have today! There wasn't even electricity yet. I think flush toilets weren't invented until 1889, about when the wild west was about over!

Very odd comment. How many films have you seen where the characters visited the toilet? Next to none, I'd guess.

@@Mr22thou . Not a very odd comment, at all. There are quite a few modern films, where two men talk while using urinals. Haven't you seen them ? I'm not saying that's a good trend. I have also seen at least one wester. , where the 'bad-man' is shot while sitting in a small , square, wooden cubicle situated quite a few yards from the house. In that long train journey, it is inevitable that someone wants to relieve themselves. Nevertheless, it might have come into my mind , because I am elderly , and need to think about such facilities. The other thing about this film is how many people are shot, while riding a horse , by somebody firing a hand-gun from a moving train. Hand guns are only accurate over a few yards , and marksmen use both arms to steady their guns. Is that an odd comment ?

@Mr22thou I am not particularly interested in seeing so-called rest rooms or powder rooms in films, not even from outside. But I can spontaneously remember one nice example: A man, facing us, stands in front of a pertinent door. We see the capital letters MEN. A second man comes along, sees the inscription, opens the door and goes inside. In a split second, we hear loud shrieking and protesting from inside. The first one steps to the side and we see the inscription on the door in full, namely WOMEN. One can always rely on Harpo Marx who was that "naughty" boy and the other two anarcho comediens from way back when (i.e. the mid 1930s).🤣😂 In this case, Groucho was his victim.
This film is very enjoyable, if not exactly in the way the makers intended.... The train seemed to be travelling past the same couple of mountains for hours on end; the back projection during the 'Indian' attack is absolutely hilarious; (Possible mild spoilers!!:) why did the train driver lie on the floor for 10 minutes after he was shot only to leap up & say he was fine when Don Barry went to investigate; how did the priest recover spectacularly after his gut shot ("he's lost a lot of blood" someone had said) & what's with the paralysed girl who can suddenly walk? Love it!!

The poor train never got past that same mountain.
All Virginia & Truckee Railway equipment. All the train shots are filmed on the Virginia & Truckee between Carson City and Minden, Nevada.
good old movie , keep them coming .
I think the train was a tardis, You know, bigger on the inside than it was on the outside.
GOOD MOVIE, THANK YOU.
In Robert Siodmak's thriller The Spiral Staircase (1946), there is also a case of a spontaneous recovery triggered by a shock. In that film, it's a deaf-mute young girl who has a narrow escape from a psychopathic serial killer and can suddenly speak again. Tom Neal of Detour Fame (1945, Edgar G. Ulmer) in a little role, sad to see.
@MidnightSouthpaw188

Detour is a Poverty Row classic. Its not like Tom Neal was ever a big star.
@againstallodds3300

@Robert Meyer If I am not grossly mistaken, Edgar G. Ulmer's DETOUR (20,000 dollars budget) is one of the most discussed (and now praised) classic B movies. Ulmer, of PEOPLE ON SUNDAY fame (Berlin, 1929; together with the Siodmak brothers, Zinnemann, and Wilder), is rightly called the king of the B movies. My remark re Tom Neal was misunderstandable, it seems. I found it sad to see him, knowing that he never had big roles. The same is true of his partner Ann Savage. And the same is also true of, e.g., Peggy Cummins and John Dall of hailed classic noir GUN CRAZY. It seems that some people have all the luck, while others don't. Or, as Tom Neal's character puts it: "Yes. Fate, or some mysterious force, can put the finger on you or me for no good reason at all"

@robertgates5164

@Inquirer Not only that, multiple people in the train were shot and the doctor tended them right away but ONLY if they were a primary character. The doctor ignored all the other wounded. Plus when the reverend was shot, he held his hands over his upper right torso. The doctor bandaged the lower left abdomen. The train conductor was so wounded he collapsed but they bandaged his wrist and all evidence of a wound and bandage was gone by movie end, he was using both hands and arms just fine. Did you also notice the windows panning around like a camera, keeping the "indians" in the camera lens and thus in the "window" view? The director must have thought viewers were idiots or 7 years old. I'm afraid this movie was a total fail for me, really sloppy continuation, even for a low budget western.
I was at a convention in Texas in the 1970s where Don Berry was a guest and he walked into the film room where they were showing his serial The Adventures of Red Ryder and he exclaimed, "God, I was pretty!"
That locomotive looked like a Baldwin manufactured in 1906
Notice, every time someone goes outside the carriage, although they have travelled miles and miles, the same 2 mountains are in the background???
So bad it's good.
Enjoyed the movie but the train traveled 500 miles in the same scenery!! Dozen outlaws turned into fifty! What happened to the other "detective"?
Anybody else notice that at 16:14, the day scene transitions into the night scene? The background mountains are the exact same scenery. Apparently, this train's moving, but it's not moving. Welcome to the Twilight Zone. "Willoughby, next stop Willoughby!"

Actually, Poor Richcrd's Almanac said, "God helps those who help themselves" (18:00), not the Church nor Scripture. And, it's certain that the electric high lines, on both sides of the moving train (24:39-25:00 & 33:12-33:28), didn't exist in Geronimo's day (as introduced by the introductory scrolling words). Odd little flick with surprise ending(s).

On July 17, 1980, actor Don Barry shot himself in the head at his home, shortly after police had left the residence after investigating a domestic dispute. He was estranged at the time from his 3rd wife.

Funny that these "savages" were called "Indians". (Courtesy Wikipedia:) India happens to be the fourth-largest national railway network in the world -after those of the United States, Russia, and China. Between 2019 and 2020, 22.15 million passengers used the Indian Railways network DAILY. In the same period, 3.32 million metric tons of freight were also shipped daily on the IR network.

Very strange paganism.. We are presented with "the spirits" . Let's see how "the spirits" (demons) will guide her.
One of the worst movies I ever watched, but I couldn't stop watching it. The crook gives up without a fight, the priest gets a gut shot but heals miraculously, The engineer is incapacitated, and gets right up and says he's fine. A crippled girl gets up and walks, and much much more.
