Well that is true because the Polar Express was faster in the movie by going uphill and downhill super duper fast like a 🎢 and one more thing trainboy do really think the Polar Express is still the fastest or the hogwog express is the fastest on the railroad tracks let me know.

I think you need a completely different locomotive for the Polar Express. It's not Nickel Plate Road 765, but Pere Marquette 1225.

The Pere Marquette 1225 and Nickel Plate Road 765 are the same as each other. They are both 2-8-4 Berkshires.

In reality on an actual railway the Hogwarts Express would fall behind pretty quickly. Between gradients, long passenger trains, and fuel and water stops the Polar Express would overtake the Hogwarts Express. Especially on a grade with a heavy train.

@@Uptownloki47 Well that may be true, we cannot forget the Hogwarts express is a train enhanced by magic. So in a real race the outcome would still be unknown. The Polar Express could also take it because of it's wonky physics from the movie, and because it was able to drift on ice like a car instead of falling straight through into the water.

You should drive the Berkshire locomotive (polar express base) more often

Ima just be honest, the “Polar Express” Pere Marquette quiet wasn’t meant for speed, the Berkshire’s were Lima “super power” was for freight, not quiet for speed, but these were the backbones of the industries.

In train simulator 2021 I used the Pere Marquette 1225 for a run 1 time on a high speed and it went up to 100 mph

The Castle class and the NKP S-2 2-8-4 Berkshire were built with two different ideas in mind. The Castles were used for high speed expresses, and the S-2s were used for heavy passenger and freight trains. BTW 765 is not Polar Express, I've rode behind 765, Polar Express is Pere Marqette 1225.

Do a race but the trains have 1,000% power. Now THAT would be existing to watch!!!!

the reason the Berkshire (the horrible PE Reskin) wasn't able to keep up is that the Berkshires were built mostly to run at 70 - 80 MPH max speed, they were built for fast freight (well the Nickle Plate Road ones I know were) but they did pull passenger from time to time

thats the NKP Berkshire. also you have the 765 only preset. you have to use the other berkshire preset to change the number.

to clear up any confusion the real polar express is Pere Marquette railroad 1225 a 2-8-4 Berkshire type steam locomotive built by the lima locomotive works on December 6 1941 serving the pere Marquette railway until 1951 when it was sold for scrap but fortunately, it was saved and now is run by the steam railroading institute on mainline excursions in 2002 warner bros obtained copies of the 1225s blueprints to base the polar express off of the locomotive model used in this video is Nickle plate road 765 another 2-8-4 built on September 8, 1944, also by the lima locomotive works its design is very similar to 1225s with a few small differences 765 also still runs today on mainline excursions but 765 is NOT the real polar express.

How about a race with the most powerful locomotives and each have 100 carriages/wagons? Or just a high amount not exactly 100. May be a slow race, but putting the locos to 500% power would even it out!

I'm surprised you actually found a reskin for the tender! I don't know how to re-number an engine in Train Simulator, but you can easily do so in Trainz: A New Era (it even comes with an engine of the same design as the Polar Express)

I couldn’t figure out how to make the Hogwarts Express engine work properly. Smoke flies out everywhere, and the wheels stay frozen with sparks flying out of them. It’s very messed up like some unfixable glitch.

The real Polar Express is the Perre Marquette 1225. 765 is another 2-8-4 like the 1225, but was never Polar Express and worked on the Nickel Plate Railroad not the Perre Marquette. The two engines have pulled trains together in real life though. Great video and race all the same! -your biggest fan

That Berkshire (name for the Polar Express/Nickle Plate 765) is waaaaaayyyyyy under-powered in Train Simulator. The 765 can do 70 mph without any diesel help on some excursion. Highly recommend searching NKP 765 at speed and watch all the videos of it. It's absolutely absurd on how fast it can go! (It's also my all time favorite steam locomotive. Wish someone could make a better quality version, and increase its performance)

This race was a bit skewed. The Movie locomotive was a Berkshire, they were known for fast freight. I believe the hogwarts loco was made for passenger service.
