TRAIN PRIMALLY: Stronger With Stones
Dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells are by far the most common tools for strength training. These tools are great for structured fitness but there's a ton of value in working with natural objects. Today we're playing with stones.
Training with stones builds deep strength - also known as "farm strength" or "old man strength". Training that builds dense muscles and strong connective tissue. Training that strengthens the body as a single unit.
This video highlights some creative ways to get stronger with stones. I used 3 different sizes - hand held, medium, and heavy - to work on grip, throwing, catching, lifting, carrying, and repositioning. The idea is to focus on movements and time under tension (as opposed to set exercises). Get creative and get strong.

Creative.
Thanks Kellen ! Definitely I'm getting more stones. By the way these last 4 weeks training with you and getting feedbacks have been amazing!
Good Stuff
Excellent ideas. Thanks for sharing
Great working material! I was thinking that it would be really interesting to see a video on the diet-nutrition topic (as complementary to a smart movement practice). Thank you as always!

I've got one coming. Thanks very much for the feedback!
I suspect this is good for anyone who is into grappling you can see the guy isreally engaging his grip more than the actual lifting.
GREAT stuff!! Just starting to get into more movement training. From a Crossfit background. Your videos HELP A TON!

CrossFit is a great start, but there's a lot more fun and growth happening outside the box. Awesome that you're starting to explore and glad the videos are helpful. Best wishes in your practice!
Hey Kellen, great video thanks. Headed out to find some stones. I had a somewhat unrelated question: I've been sort of geeking out on short documentaries and podcasts about endurance athletes - 100 mile runs, ultra-marathons, etc. The thing I like about the stories is how these men and women find these physical/emotional edges and then then push well past them into a new realm of personal possibility. super cool. HOWEVER, I don't like running (injured knees) and prefer the more equipment-free suppleness of natural movement to road biking or training in a pool. Do you have any suggestions for endurance challenges in the natural movement world that I could train for and try to accomplish? Or is the whole idea anathema to your movement principles?
