    Rolled the fuck out of my car when the road suddenly turned to just gravel while going over a hundrel and fishtailed, roller quite quite far, very lucky. Craziest part was i was stranded after until an Amish family in horse drawn carriage rolled on by and took me to a service station so i could arrange a tow, it was rather surreal as i was quite dazed at the time and not entirely sure i wasnt hallucinating lol.

    to stop trailersway , do not brake do not accellerate , you need to put youre foot off the gas and slow down slowly if you try to countersteer it will amplify if you hit the gas it will amplify if you hit the brakes the trailer tries to pass the car if you take the foot off the gas the swaying will slow and die out then pull over and stop hyperventilating then check everything over and if possible reload the trailer ok we fit a rollcage safety harnesses and trainingwheels ... lets go it was at this moment the found out that the truck didnt fit through the door no more

    13:10 Well, technically the trailer stopped swaying. Myth confirmed? 😅

  • @Gunthor-be4ri

    Their trailer sway was caused by being heavily rear balanced, and accelerating causes weight transfer to the rear. Im still not convinced, i feel like it would work if their trailer was properly balanced and the sway was from like wind, or a liquid sloshing around.

  • @ZeroForce96

    @ZeroForce96

    2 ай бұрын

    If the sway comes from wind or liquid sloshing it would just resolve itself by maintaining the same speed, so by accelerating you might just straighten out a little quicker. The point of the myth is exactly that people think you can accelerate out of improper load distribution sway, wich you cannot. The only way to safely stop a rear heavy trailer from swaying is to let off the gas and brake lightly while holding the steering wheel tight and straight. (I drive a tractor-trailer so I know what it feels like when a gust of wind pushes the trailer into a sway.)

    I've had trailer sway start. Mostly due to a soft left front spring and entering a curve slightly too fast on a down hill. I got out of it by: 1 straightening the wheels (I was on the inside lane of 2). 2: slight tap on the accelerator. This did pull the hitch straight 3: brake to lose about 10 mph. Now steer into the curve. Note an emphasis of a slight tap on the accelerator - maybe a tenth of a second. I was much more cautious about curves with that rug on that trip. It was also the last trip that vehicle made towing. The tow vehicle outweighed the trailer by a small fraction as it was loaded as well as the trailer.

    Trailer sway really doesn't kick in until you exceed 80 kph (50 mph), and gets worse the faster you drive. If you have a trailer that's balanced marginally and wants to start swaying when you reach 100 kph, you can drive it safely just by dropping the speed to 80 kph or lower. This is the reason why in most of Europe, there is a trailering speed limit of 80 kph. NEVER NEVER NEVER try to accelerate out of trailer sway. Hit the clutch, don't touch the brakes (unless you can add some trailer brakes without activating the truck brakes), and coast it down to lower speed. If anybody actually thinks that you can "drive through" trailer sway, they are likely making a false connection with BOATS (something commonly carried ON trailers). Some boat hull designs can start rocking in a way that superficially seems like a trailer sway, but with those hull designs, you CAN accelerate out of it. These are typically hulls that have multiple levels of "flats" -- if its riding in between levels, it can rock, but if you speed it up, it will lift to the next level and smooth out. Be very careful with this idea though, because a boat that is overpowered could try to ride above the last set of flats, which means it will eventually flip over and kill you if you try to go even faster.

    @29:43 - I doubt that "voltage to the motor" (as the battery depletes) is the actual reason, and I have 50 years in electronics to argue that fight .. rather likely the controller software. I agree with you I remember looking at a voltage to charge level graph of average Li-ion batteries and they stay pretty close to max voltage until they are basically dead. so those batteries will be able to provide full or nearly full power until it's at like 10% but it also makes sense that the motor controller would be set to scale down towards eco mode or lower when the battery's are below a certain percentage. as I believe the thinking behind this is the only reason the batteries would be that low is that they are still trying to get to a charger, so minimizing power draw will give them the best chance to get to that charger before the battery voltage does drop off the cliff.
