Trail Running Time Trial || 3 Miles Uphill Running

I have been doing a lot of incline running on the treadmill, and I love trail running, so it just made sense to do a hard uphill trail effort. This one put me straight into the pain cave. It was so hard, but I wanted this to be an all out effort so that's good! This workout was on West Side Road in Issaquah, WA. Thank you to everyone on instagram who gave me advice about good trails near me!

What I find crazy is you do a run before your run, for me 2 miles would be my run for the day, just proves how strong and incredible you are.

I've never heard anyone say she/he is feeling excited about running three miles uphill! You continue to amaze me, Allie O. And love to see how smart you are with your activation and training. You are my hero! That "time trial" run uphill looked incredibly difficult. Your face at the end says it all. "Already want to do it again!" What a champn and Ari is also a champ for accompanying you despite his reserve.

That's a serious workout, for which I was impressed with your 6 flat for 200 ft. of elevation gain. That was fast, especially for making it up the 11% grade! I think you are getting very strong, and this could be a year where, if it is what you desire, you well may be able to set some PR's. Remember, I have you down for 31:30 in the 10k! If you were ever around Las Vegas, The Bristlecone trail starts at 8700 ft. in Lee Canyon, and goes up to 9400 ft. in 3.3 miles. With the elevation and uphill, a mile takes about 50% longer than normal. If you you were running a 5k around 5 min pace, you might be 7:30 on that trail which is staggering for anybody who has ever run that trail. If you want some amazing hill running, come to Las Vegas and do the Red Rock loop....12.5 miles or so, where it is seemingly better from the back to the front. The starting elevation is about 3600 feet, and there is about a 1200 ft. elevation gain over 7.8 miles, then....fly downhill the rest of the way. Running up and down those hills and for longer distance really makes one strong, and the scenery is breathtaking, as that loop is surrounded by mountains with similar colors that you would see in Sedona, with amazing panoramic views that you can see some of the Vegas Strip. Of course for sheer brutality of a hill run, you are the absolute Queen of Mt. Marathon! Allie O....it is great to see your videos in which I you are running like a champion. Seeing you run motivates me to amp it up a bit....no slacking here, I ran and did spin class today. Lets see if I can avoid the cookies and creme Cliff protein bars for kids that are in my pantry, which are not good for losing weight and getting faster! Have a great day.

You said this was a time trial but I don't recall you saying you time or speed anywhere around the route. Based upon your stride video recorded you didn't seem to be going at much faster than 8mph (7:30 mile pace). Up hills are hard, especially on a gravel road/path.
